I remember this as a little kid, this was my first exposure to the Lone Ranger. The Wild Wild West influence is very clear. This show tends to reinforce certain stereotypes but at the same time gives Tonto a ton of respect and plenty of opportunity to shine either alone or with the Lone Ranger. I remember the artwork in particular. I have not seen a cartoon series like this before or since. The style was groundbreaking. I'd like to see a revival of these old shows, I've really enjoyed seeing them again. Thanks for posting.

The artwork style copies the one in "The Wild Wild West" opening titles...

0:27 He's in the bank but sitting on his office's chair. obviously the scene was supposed to have a different background but that's OK. a very rare blooper from this impeccable series.

The creative style of graphic representation and scripting was at the pinnacle of its achievement in 1966. This episode was done as conservative as possible. Repeats and loops, recycled again and again. Cells were individually drawn, cut-out, and photographed on selected backgrounds, using 35 mm film stock. Newer styles of animation using computer imaging were not yet developed. Thanks for posting this. It is real classic!

Thank you so very much for uploading all these Lone Ranger cartoons! I used to watch them back home, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the late '70s... I loved "The wild, wild West", so obviously I loved these cartoons too... I live in Canada now but I remember this part of my childhood back there with fondness... Thank you! By the way, I remember this episode very clearly, and the villain here was named, dubbed in Spanish, "Señor Jubilo", meaning literally, "Mister Joy"...

This is Peary... Watterman never used that laugh out of respect when he took over as "Gildy". This was a DEFINITE over-use of the trade-mark laugh, though.

Doesn't Mr. Happy look and act a lot like Dr. Humperdinck Dumpty, from the Spiderman cartoons? As a matter of fact, the voices sound alike... Could it be that the same actor did the voice for both characters?
