Common viewers requests:
1) Please review of Lone Star Grillz offset warming oven.
2) Show how to hang ribs in Lone Star Grills Offset Smoker?
3) What else can you do with the warming oven?
So today is the day! In this video, I give a Lone Star Grillz warming oven review & a complete tutorial on how to smoke ribs in the Lone Star Grillz offset smoker similar to how you would in a drum smoker like the Weber Smokey Mountain vs Pit Barrel Cooker. I also briefly show how I cook chicken & steak (ribeye) in the Lone Star Grillz offset smoker warming oven.

Really glad I found this. I've been looking at a lonestarz smoker and wondering if you could smoke in the warming oven. I was looking at the 48 with the additional vertical cabinet. But now that I see you can actually smoke in that warming oven, i'm starting to reconsider. One thing, do you ever use the warming oven as a warming oven? How does it do?
@SimonAndCookie
@SimonAndCookie 4 жыл бұрын
Great video, Jusitin. I use my warming oven every cook - for heating splits. If I'm cooking in the main chamber, I run the warmer at about 200 and keep it full of the wood I'm using for that cook. That ensures they're nice and dry and ready to combust when I put them on the fire.

Great Demonstration Justin Ribs really looked good. I have a couple questions. If you were to repurchase this keeping the warming oven would you go with pipe or cabinet model. I was looking at clearance were plate with butterfly’s sits there looks like theres adiquit room just as if you had no warming box and those griddles have something to lift them up is there any reason you could not order griddle along with what comes with warming oven.

Hey Justin! I've always felt that the "Warming Box" has been underutilized! LSG has built into their design the additional potential with this vertical cabinet. You are very thorough with the explanation of using Lump charcoal is this stick burner and making note that the dampers need to be almost closed to maintain lower direct heat temps. 👍 It's two different animals we're talking about here, Wood and Charcoal, and the LSG design can accommodate both! Oh......and then there is the Sear Factor that can also be achieved! Gotta say........You got Yourself one heck of a Heavy Metal Pit right there! ;-) Metal On! \m/

I have a 30 inch offset LSG cabinet with the warming oven and have been looking for a video just like this to get me started on using the oven more often. One question, have you tried cooking direct heat using wood instead of charcoal? If so, would you suggest changing how you ran the dampers on the firebox and oven? Also, would love to see a future video where you try cooking some thick pork steaks (1-1.5 in) cut from a whole bone-in pork shoulder. They are popping up more at Texas BBQ places and it would be great to see you cook a few over direct heat in the warming oven. Thanks again for all of the great content!

I've tried it. You have to do things alot different to keep the fire breathing enough not to smolder. There's probably a way to do it but I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze if you know what I mean
