Nice pit! I have the LSG 20x42 offset. Just a little tip: I always clean out the firebox before I clean the exterior. You don't want all of that ash on your nice, clean exterior. Side note: The mineral oil will not create a sticky residue, but cooking oil will.

Heat resistant rubber would eliminate that rust around handles small rubber pieces under cool touch handles that is.

Whats up Chris.. Yea that would probably work.. a lil something to block that direct metal on metal contact. I just take my handles off when I clean my pit and I oil the corners w Mineral oil.

I use Bravex blow torch to keep my grates, smoke stack and barrel clean. It’s worth the investment to keep creosote off my pit. I have the 24x40.

Thanks for the video. How do you feel about food grade mineral oil versus some of the other oils with higher smoke points like Pam spray, canola oil, peanut oil, avocado, oil, etc.? I just got a used LSG and I’m trying to figure out what’s best.
@KillerMillerQue
@KillerMillerQue 8 ай бұрын
No question definitely go w the Mineral oil. It works the best and it won't leave a sticky residue on your grill over time like cooking oil will. The mineral oil conditions the metal and will literally be absorbed.

@@KillerMillerQue Ok i'm gonna give it a shot. Do you kow any tricks for removing pam? I seasoned it pretty well with that before I got the mineral oil
