“Remembering Something That No One Else Can Is A Painful Thing. You Can’t Talk To Anyone About It. No One Will Understand You. You’ll Be Alone.” ~Rintarou Okabe

thats relatable as I foresaw covid 3 year ago in 2019, yet no one believed me nor remembered it after a while, I hate that I'm the only one that remembers, it's really lonely
@soul8985 Жыл бұрын
Relatable, as I often have very realistic dreams and then confuse them with reality. It feels really weird and sad being impossible to trust your own memories, as it is mostly things I wish that had happened.

@@soul8985 " For some, dreams can feel like memories. This is more common than you may think. For some people, old dreams can feel like real memories and this experience is referred to as 'dream-reality confusion'." Perhaps this has something to do with the Mendala effect, scientists gained insight on memory due to it, it was that old memories are unreliable most of the time because memories change a lot

I actually always cry the hardest at the start/middle of S;G 0 out of any Science Adventure games because I'm bombarded by Okabe's depression and PTSD. I probably wouldn't really disagree if someone said the emphasis placed on it all borders on excessive, still I can't help but sob. Or maybe I just _feel_ there's an emphasis placed on it because it affects me so much.

I understand what you're saying, for I myself feel something similar (some life events) But the more this depression is felt in the beginning, the more Okabe's re-awale is felt at the end of game. You become almost one *[S;G 0 CHAPTER VEGA AND ALTAIR SPOILER ALERT]* The moment of Mayuri's death and reading her message in labaratory afterwards also evoked genuine emotion. When you cry with Okabe as you read her message and then wipe away the tears with him, it creates the purest emotion of a playful masterpiece

@@IRandomPersonI (Spoiler alert) That moment when all the labmems lock themselves in the lab, while the world around them is falling apart though, I could feel the anxiety they all had. But then, and only then, Okabe saw "something" in the corner in the of his wet eyes, which got him into this mess, and is also the only way out. Man those lines got me the most.

I disagree that the emphasis placed on it being excessive, since it's Okabe's depression and loneliness that caused the search for Steins;Gate. I do wish there were less characters in the VN and focused on the main crew than the new ones and Kagari (who I despise)
@johnathonyoung4799 Жыл бұрын
Spoiler: just to be safe. I don't think it's excessive at all considering he killed the one that he loves and thinks that he is hopeless to do anything about it and yet at the same time is aware that he actually can try, while he lives in a world where nobody remembers anything at all knowing that world war 3 is inevitable Sarah Conner was about as sane and that billions of people are going to die because of him including Suzuha's mother in front of her and canonically this all happened right after SG1s Mayuri stuff too. I think its actually a really good depiction of the depressive and sadness stuff which is something that I like about it, I feel like the adaption is flawed and they didn't choose or blend the right parts of the VN, the start is particularly really strong, as for the VN I haven't finished it yet but I've already seen some stuff that would've really went well in the anime.

I've depression and PTSD, though not from killing the person i love and the fate of the mankind resting on my shoulders, still i can feel Okabe's situation. The VN handles things better imo. PS: Goddamn, the part where Okabe gets sent back to Alpha and meets Kurisu, i almost stopped playing it then and there ;__; Also the Gehenna's stigma end broke me, not as bad as the before mentioned part, but still...
