Indeed. It was my first guitar I had bought in 35 years and I was blown away by the modern machining. I mean, the last guitar I owned was an Antigua strat lol

Thx for this demo, dig the playing and your studio is sweet too! Appreciate all the insight and dug the Tele twang you threw in on top of the heavy - agree on having that variation in your studio, this looks like a killer stick :)

I got one of these brand new last year with a form fitting hardshell, really difficult to get used to at first, felt like the neck was in the next room, after playing it to death for a couple of weeks it's now my main guitar, out of the 20 or so guitars I have this one is like a treasure that stands above the rest, especially that phat cat combined with the bridge split doing cleans.

Glad you pushed through so you could discover what a great guitar it is. Those cleans really blew me away. Cheers!

My pleasure! And thank you! I'm sure that E-II is killer! I'd love to try that one. For the money the Phoenix is the best guitar I have ever acquired. Hope you get one soon!

@@LonelyRocker actually, can’t wait to plug it in and chug a bit. I have a talk with Gibson Firebird owner and he is clearly was not so happy in case you have to repair tuners, for example.. and when I was this pheonix.. omg Wondering if it is always was made in Indonesia or there some made in Korea as well🤔

Thank you for a really great review LR!! I bought this exact guitar a little over a year ago for performing live. I am typically a Les Paul style player but wanted something that had flash, looked good/different and had all of the options you described in this review. I have a couple of quirks with this guitar over the past year that I should address, but don't get me wrong, I love the guitar as a whole. - First of all I found that the upper frets in the low E and B range (around the 14th fret) had a slight cut in the stainless steel that I could feel when bending the string in that area. That needs to be ironed out still. - Secondly, I found that a few parts were actually loose that should not have been and I needlessly had to tighten them. Example, a few tuning keys, the input jack, the tone knob and the toggle switch. - Thirdly, the pots and wiring inside this guitar are not quite up to par. It has mini pots and not the standard size 500k pots you would expect in a Les Paul. Although I hear no real difference in sound quality because of it. I was just stating it. - Fourthly, I had trouble with the toggle switch and it started cutting out in rehearsal and even in a live setting. I had to open it up to change the toggle and found a loose green wire just hanging there which came off of the tone pot all on it's own. - Fifthly, the wiring is so thin that it looks like what you would find in an early 80's Colleco head to head hand held football game. - Sixthly, I encountered a problem with my low E string popping out of the bridge saddle a few times in a show so I was forced to file a deeper groove in the saddle. I only use 10 - 46 so I found that a bit weird when I went out of tune that bad. All in all though, these are minor issues, but they should have been addressed in quality control. I get great comments from folks and it is fun to play once you get used to the neck length like you indicated. Here is a great example of me starting out a tune with the coil split on to get kind of a clucky strat tone and then popping it in later in the tune (1:43) when I wanted it heavier. I am going through my Marshal Bluesbreaker RI (2014) and gain it from an MXR Badass on my board (Intro is only a Maxon ST9 Super Tube for mild gain). Auto-Wah is from a TC Electronic Viscous Vibe programmed preset: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jarLgXiBjcmdsKc

No stairway!? Denied! 😂 Dan, terrific video! Jon made me a believer and I'm so glad we've both acquired one. Definitely the most versatile guitar in my collection as well. I'd say you got that guitar for a STEAL! 🤘🏻

Thanks! I’m a studio guy so I’m generally sitting down. But it feels pretty balanced considering it is offset. The body is quite large which I think helps the balance.

Not going to lie, I LOVE stainless steel. No maintenance and they just last. But so far I’m not missing them on this guitar. It’s got tons of mojo as is.
