Lonesome and Sorry (1926) - Lee Sims - piano roll transcription

This arrangement is beloved by a very good friend of mine who is currently on an airplane. I am uploading this as a surprise for him to find after he reaches his destination. It is also one of my favorites.
When I initially transcribed it into sheet music, I was a little intimidated by the amount of modifications I would have to make - it is not so complicated per se, but the tenor line is frequently extremely far away from the bass notes. I did my best to pull it together into a playable arrangement by moving many of the bass notes up by an octave, changing a few of them, and also changing or dropping a few of the tenor notes. I think it still sounds effective. One thing worth noting is that because of a limitation of the software, in the second chorus the slides between tremolos are not played.

I don't really have or know of the right words to use about this post. Of all the many fine and wonderful transcriptions by Rowan Belt, this one tops them all in my opinion.... even above Mandalay which is unbelievable. You can be sure I will watch this many times. I have no doubt that your friend on the airplane will be pleased beyond what is normal. How could they not? Thank you for posting this for the rest of us to enjoy over and over again!!!! Your talent is astounding. 👍👍👍

Thank you so much, that is truly a wonderful comment. One annoying thing about KZbin videos is that they cannot be edited after posting, so I can't do anything about the mistakes I noticed today! But they are just notation mistakes (the same note duplicated in both hands), so I doubt many people will be bothered. I'm so glad you enjoyed it that much. It really makes my effort 100% worthwhile. It amazes me that you think this is my best work...I actually feel that I cut some corners! (No articulations written in, etc.) But I am just happy that it pleases you. That was my goal. :)
