LONESOME DOVE! Uncut interview with Exec Producer Suzanne DePasse!

In March 1985, Motown Records producer Suzanne De Passe took out an 18 month option on an unpublished manuscript of a novel by writer Larry McMurtry. It was a western work of fiction called "Lonesome Dove." What seemed like a giant risk at the time, turned into one of the most beloved miniseries in television history. Originally scheduled for six hours, the production was extended to a magnificent eight hour critical and ratings smash. What's the real story behind this classic? Suzanne joined Rob Word in January 2014 for the very first of the A WORD ON WESTERNS interviews. Her amazing journey of discovering the manuscript, putting the production team together and selecting the fine cast of performers, was recorded and edited into 3 short segments for ease of Internet viewing.
