@dawillkid shows us his beautiful 2JZ GS300 / Aristo in this episode, and chats about the decisions he had to make when building the car. I was amazed at the build quality and fitment of everything, and the extreme attention to detail he put into everything. I love it. It is really cool hearing him chat about the trade offs between style and performance, and hear him talk about his next build?

So inspirational! This blows 99.9% of the SEMA builds out of the water in my opinion. Plus, the fact that it actually gets driven the way it does makes it X100 more rad

In a time where Formula D cars run 800hp+, performance doesn't even matter anymore for the smaller budget builds. $100k build isn't fun to look at. But a car, like this where a fabricator throws it together in, per say the garage.. Thats the drift car. And its stylish boiiiiiiiiii

@tree9010
@tree9010 3 жыл бұрын
Brandon Soto idk they weigh around 3700 factory and what weight reduction did you see? I seen a massive cage which is heavy af, still has all the interior panels and glass, big wheels, and everything that was cut from the back for the seats was still restructured and to think he didn’t do it properly after seeing his work you’d be an idiot. That being said around 4500 would be my honest guess
@zerohourdrift
@zerohourdrift 3 жыл бұрын
@@tree9010 he cut out the rear floor pan and eliminated a lot of the old structure. The cage replaces the structural pieces, he ditched all the heavy ass stock seats(likely massive leather electric couches lmao) for lightweight buckets, ditched the stock gas tank and rear trunk area as well. That’s a lot of weight cut out and roll cage stuff isn’t THAT heavy
@tree9010
@tree9010 3 жыл бұрын
@@zerohourdrift ok when he cut the rear floor pan do the seats just hover in the car now? I’ll teach you something, yes areas of metal such as the floor pan are heavy but that’s because they are structural, how ever if your not a dip shit that would just thrown a piece of tin over a whole and bolt some seats to it and call it a day as your implying and let’s say just by chance your a amazing fabricator.. oh wait the guy that built it is 🤯 you would make sure that your passengers and chassis will be in tacked at the end of a run by rebuilding what was taken out just as strong if not stronger. The trunk still has to much attention to detail to not be structured well in my opinion, it’s not an fd made with hollow crumple zone everything is fit and finished right which means there’s a bunch of bars back there too. I will give it to you on the front seats but rear doesn’t weigh much at all

They weigh that 3700 stock. He has full interior, glass windows, an INSANE cage that weighs a ton, and a massive fuel tank. Not to mention giant 3 piece wheels and 4 seats. Even has carpet and floormats. Id guessb 4700lbs minimum with a full tank of gas
@codenamecordon
@codenamecordon 3 жыл бұрын
@@EiteTryHard but he ditched the heavy stock seats (fronts at least are electric and super heavy, probably ~80-100kg per seat), the roof liner, the carpet, cut out a lot of heavy factory floor that was also super structural and was able to make a thinner and way flatter (less surface area) floor to replace it, he also ditched the factory fuel tank which probably is bigger and heavier than the 15gal cell he has now, etc. Weight comes and goes in the “little” things as much as from the “big” things. 5000lbs empty sounds unreal.
