The foot lever is usually to rotate the seats. You have to pull the seat out and spin it to get it to work. This is not intended for passengers to use, and they generally don’t like it if you change the seat configuration.

Wow, seeing that suicide prevention hotline sign takes me back. One sunday back in 2019 I decided to make an impromptu trip to Oceanside. So I made my way to Anaheim and grabbed Metrolink ($10 day pass is great). Anyhoo the trip down there was flawless, but then as we waited for the bus back it became clear there was something wrong. Yup, somebody decided to step on the tracks and end their life right then and there. The delay lasted hours, but at least I did get home...barely.

I'm from Laguna Niguel and live less then a mile from the Laguna Niguel station I've seen this train go by millions of times when I'm driving on the freeway or driving across the bridge over the track

Maybe you mentioned this, but seeing both of your Surfliner videos, you should have done business class out of LA and then coach on the way back as you would have access to the Metropolitan Lounge in LA! It's nothing fancy, but a nice bonus at least.

I actually made the decision to travel in business class while I was in San Diego, having bought my round trip tickets the day prior in LA, so checking out the lounge wouldn't have ever crossed my mind. That being said, it certainly would have been a nice addition to the trip reports. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in LA!

Nice video! Didn't know the Superliners on the surfliner were business class - looks suspiciously like long distance coach! Would love to collab sometime if you're on the east coast.

Thanks for the support! Surfliner business class IS long distance coach! (Or it’s at least very similar) I’m not sure when I’ll be back on the east coast, I’m considering going out to Florida to check out Brighline in the winter, but I’ll be sure to let you know when I am!

The superliners actually used to be the second car from the cabcar, in coach, until they moved them back to business because of them having better legroom and a smoother ride

@@surfliner456 Ugh bummer. Moved out of San Diego in 2015 I think before they made the change, so I was always used to the superliners being coach. Didn't take advantage of them enough

Interesting! I was on a train down to San Diego that didn’t have one, and I saw multiple trains while spotting around the area that didn’t have one.

@@LonestarTrips some of the superliners are painted into a Pacific Surfliner paint scheme, making it look similar to the normal cars. They still have one door and the lines are a bit off on the paint.

They were rescued by Caltrans from Amtrak. The Superliners were sitting in Beech Grove having been in crashes and needing repair. Caltrans realized that they had not ordered enough cars for their corridor services (Surfliner, Capitol Corridor and San Joaquins) so they made an arrangement with Amtrak to pay for the repairs in exchange for adding the cars to these California-funded trains. Sometimes they are Business Class, but other times (and on the San Joaquins trains) they are not.

Afew years ago I purchased a brand new Toyota Carolla from Toyota of Rockwall in Rockwall Tx I had to get my Toyota jumped 4 times The battary just was not holding a charge Toyota of Rockwall put a brand new battary in my Carolla at no charge

While I was in Rockwall Tx I stopped off at my heart Dr off ice I needed to talk to him I told Dr Dickson my plans Dr Dickson said That I could do any thing that I want But he wants me to keep my ass on the ground No more Southwest Airlines for me I am pkanning a cruise on American Cruise Kines The Cruise leaves out of Providence RI I was going to fly to Providence but now I will be going Amtrak
