I used to love to take this train to Seoul from DonDaegu when I was in the Army. (I was stationed in a small town north of Daegu). Probably the most comfortable and reliably punctual train service I ever took... Which includes Deutsche Bahn's Intercity and Intercity Express services. Never did splurge on first Class though

It's an incredible train, and I can't imagine how much it opened up travel and improved commerce throughout Korea when it was introduced. Although the particular trainsets in this video are the older ones, I definitely agree they're incredibly comfortable. Even economy class seemed more than reasonable for long distance travel.

@@LonestarTrips Yes, I never even thought there was a first class as economy was more than comfortable enough for the 90 minute ride to Seoul. Train travel in Korea is great in general and the only time it wasn't comfortable was during the Chosok (lunar new year) Holiday.... or if you were stuck on the cheapest train in August (Which I was once).

Another fine video. Glad to have a narrated video of this train. Wish we had more high speed rail in the US.

Thanks a lot. Hopefully in the next decade or so we'll see a greater development of high speed rail in the US. It seems like we're heading in that direction as of late, but only time will tell if the many planned projects actually get built.

"Wish we had more high speed rail in the US." More? That would imply that the US already has high speed rail, which it doesn't.

Damn next week's video looks like fun! I didn't know that there was a newer Shinkansen. The last one I heard about was the N700S. Love the livery!

The new trains are beautiful, both inside and out. Plus they still had that “new train smell” when I rode on them.

What a coincidence! I was only there for 3 days though, as the majority of that trip was to Japan, but it was still nice to explore the country.

You need to try out Northeast regional train 157 which goes from Norfolk Virginia to Springfield Massachusetts with a very unique two locomotive swaps. The diesel gets swapped out for an electric in DC than you go back to a diesel in New Haven Connecticut

A lot of KTX trains are showing their age, have rust, look worn out and lost their appeal. The Shinkansen in Japan is 100 times better.
