Wow. I have two geertop tents. The navigator and the dome 2 person 4 season tent and neither one has any problem. I had both about 1 year and in all weather except bad winter snow. No issues yet.

Well at the time he was sponsored by another company so he would talk down about other tents. I’ve had this exact same tent for 3 years use it at least 20 times a year no issues

Bought seam sealant after watching this video over the winter assuming mine was the same. Just pulled it out since I’m heading out in a couple weeks and was pleasantly surprised to find both sides of my seams are factory sealed. I guess it just comes down to QA/QC. Hope they get their issues fixed, it’s a nice little tent.

lol - I just did the same - buying the seam sealant - but, I haven't looked at my tent to see if it's seam-sealed on both sides like yours or if it's like Wolf's Either way, I'm going to reseal the seams and spray it down really well with Scotchguard for outdoor equipment. The one thing I don't want to deal with is leaks in my tent...

I understand that some of the defects are just nuts, like the ring to ring non-connector issue. However, you've identified the faulty stitching. I have the same tent and have used it once so far. It did rain, but not hard, but things stayed dry. I'm just going to seal all the seams. I'll also give it a waterproofing treatment after the seam sealer. Problem solved, for me anyway. I really appreciate you posting this so that I now know where the defects in this tent are located!! Liked and subscribed...

I think about 50% of the reviews I’ve read on Amazon were about zipper failures within the first use of the tents from this company. It’s a shame the design is so attractive. I really looked at this model for cold camping in winter and it’s just too much of a problem. Thanks for reassuring my thoughts, sorry for the equipment loss

Interesting. I have a GeerTop 2 man, different style than this one. This is the fourth year I've used it, and it has done well through some rather tough Colorado and Wyoming winter's. I've also used it for a spike camp while Elk hunting. I also retreat it after a few wet outings. Anyway, enjoyed the video nonetheless.🤠

Wow... appreciate the honest review... after looking at their prices I would not expect those kinds of failures and if they did have them I would at least expect them to remedy it. No company is immune to occasional quality blunders but if they refuse to acknowledge them then they don't deserve anyone's money. That tent seems lower quality than something you could get off the shelf for less than half the cost at Wallyworld...

Just went through the tent and they definitely fixed the issues you had but yupppers QC missed a spot for extra stiching. So I'm guessing it will fail after a few uses. Thank you and the channel is great!! Can you show me placement of the stove jack you installed??

I own one of these tents…. Wanted to love it… can’t make myself like it. It’s WAY too heavy in my opinion, but that’s not my complaint. Similar to your story mine is about water 💦 . Not rain , mine did fine in the rain. My problem was freezing temps and the amount of condensation that actually soaked into the fabric. Not droplets that could be shaken off, it had saturated the fabric . And then …. When I got home , I hung it up inside my house near the wood stove , it took FOREVER to dry out. 😡 can’t deal w wet stuff when it’s that cold out 🥶 .

I bought that brand a few years ago. Almost froze to death in it and it leaked, poles broke etc. total failure. I use the alps Tasmanian 3 for cold weather. It’s heavy but I throw it in my sled and off I go!

I would advice against tipi. They require a huge ground area but provide quite small inner space. Luxe Hexpeak is a small one person tent that takes the area of three regular tents.

Ah jeremy you have the worst luck when it comes to tents. Maybe one of these days you will get a tent that is rain proof , all kinds of weather proof. It would probably be cheaper to buy your own materials and make your own tent, that way you will know it will hold and won't leak. I love your videos but hate it when you get duped on bad tents. Will the company not take them back? Some one else who has trouble with bad tents is luke from outdoor gear review. He has alot of trouble with tents that leak. Thanks for the video. Sounds like you had a dodgy one. Don't know why you wouldn't do a rain test prior to taking out on a camping trip. I have two Geertop tents. A one man ultralight tent and the navigator 2 man. The one man held up well in wind and rain with no leakage. The 2 man I still have to do a rain test with but looks good. No dodgy aspects on initial inspection.

Wow that's very disappointing from Geertop, I was hoping for better from a quality perspective, but even more from a corporate communications perspective. I just bought their taller bivy tent, haven't tried it yet but know what to look for when I set it up. They seem to have maybe changed the name to "Alpine tent" on Amazon now, lol...that tent went from 388$ in July to 268$ now. Shame on them, ridiculous.

I was actually thinking of getting this for winter. I did a lot of research and found out that it's total garbage. It's a shame, if these Chinese companies would just spend a few more Yen ensuring basic quality and actually testing the product, they would have return customers. People would buy more inventory but they are so short sighted that they can only see the dollar signs right now. How stupid can you be not to realise less purchases over a long time is more money than a load of purchases now but never again.
