Jose', I don't know what you were expecting when you went to Long Beach. But the parts you were in are NOT sketchy. Yes, Long Beach does have those areas, you guys just weren't in them. I think you were expecting a little too much. I had a friend who lived in Long Beach, in the very neighborhood you drove through. I thought it was an okay area.

LOL what's funny is I'm from LB and visited Florida back in 2019. The way you describe LB is exactly how I felt about Miami.. outside of Brickell/ Miami Beach, the whole place just felt soulless and depressing to me. Everything's just a matter of perspective I guess 🤣

I'm from Long Beach and L.B. is a great beach is cool. Those Palm Trees aren't that bad. I never had bees and bugs from them. I love my Long Beach.

The last time I visited Cali in 2018, I stayed in Long Beach and loved it. Especially because Santa Monica is overrated and overpriced. Downtown Long Beach is nice.

This is not the hood lol. And yeah it's a bit shitty, but the city has character. Don't know if you were expecting a resort town or something, but it's a blue collar city at heart. It's far from perfect, but there are a lot of good people there.

Born and raised here. Love my city. Grew up in the Wardlow section then we moved to 10th and Pacific area. Absolutely enjoyed my childhood there. Not gonna lie tho… LB was hood back then. Seen a man die and everything. But luckily he was brought back to life. But now LB rose that rent so all the nonsense moved upwards towards LA and the valley. And Long Beach is NOT LA. We’re just in their county, but those are two different cities.

Agree about Queen Palm Trees! My cousin is a tree trimmer and I sometimes work for him. Both of us, his son, and two other guys trimmed over a dozen Queen Palms the other day around a Mansion on a steep hillside a couple days ago. What a day.... 😳

It’s boring just driving in Long Beach. I know the spots where it’s fun and active but not safe. You missed the spot on this one if you are looking for sketchy areas. Take a ride on the bus and train and you will feel how it’s like in the city.

You are going the wrong way if you would of made a left on ocean it becomes very nice. The Queen Mary was larger then the Titanic and they used it during ww2 . Long Beach is great I lived there for years.

I actually think it looks really neat and the slight grittiness adds rather then subtracts! Yes there is a lot of bs about high crime in major California cities. It's actually more of our poor inland midsize cities and even many small blue collar towns that are truly high crime.

I’m a California native from the San Diego area (Carlsbad specifically). I would say California is not a boring place but it’s definitely nowhere near what the media and filmography has portrayed it to be. Especially how rap music has boasted it up. Cali is nothing like that. California is literally nothing more than just a fad because that’s where most celebrities come from so of course celebrities are going to hype it up. Cali is literally no different than any other state. Celebrities are literally the reason why California became overrated in the first place. Now Miami is a totally different story.

Got kinda close but didn't hit the mark. Snoop, Warren G and Nate Dogg (RIP) are from the east side. I remember when the city had Snoop Dogg banners on the street poles in front of Poly High School on Atlantic Ave. Bought my first record at V.I.P. The soundtrack to Shaft by Issac Hayes.. Sad day when the V.I.P. sign came down.

Just a gloomy overcast day. Otherwise this erea @Alamitos/ocean/Shoreline, The Rivera, is one of the better ereas. Did you know you were driving on the actual track of the Gran prix, and you made that U Turn right at the Winners Circle of the Longbeach Gran Prix. You should have continued down that road. Towards Queen Mary and you would have seen the beautiful part of The Erea. P. S. Snoop is not from this erea. Very Lil crime and homeless is every where.

I just took a vacation to Los Angeles a couple months ago. Stayed in a hotel down by seal Beach and seen the Queen Mary. We also went to Santa Monica Beach in Universal Studios I thought Long Beach especially down by the ocean was a pretty nice area. I mean, every city has its nice spots and not so nice spots.🤷‍♂️
