He had a bad cold while recording this, but they wanted to take advantage of his huskiness from the cold. He had to stop because at times he’d cough or squeak straining his voice. I give him all the credit for his work ethic. He was sicker the next day & still recorded. By the third day they told him to rest a couple of days. This song is played on U tube with videos of his funeral if you want to watch it yourself. I can only watch it once a year on the Anniversary of his death. You can’t not have a good cry watching it. Thanks for all your gifts left for us Elvis. Thank you too for your videos and love for Elvis.

I cried the first time I heard this song years ago, and still have tears and always will. It is so much like when he left this world with his funeral and all the articles in papers around the world. And the emotion that he puts in this song cannot be anything but pure talent that only Elvis had.

I love the country soul and blues in Elvis's voice mixed with gospel flavor the soulfulness the pain and the energy mixed with sweetness in Elvis's voice is untouchable with a rawness definitely one of his best performance s fifties and early sixties and from 1968 to 1970 this was Elvis's singing and his iconic status charisma and who he really was at its bestt not even debatable Black limousine is a classic they covers many genres of music 1969 definitely one of his iconic years thank you have a great day 👍✌🏼👍🏼😁

Elvis puts so much of his soul into this pne. I heard some of out takes.of thid song that are hilarious. Elvis is singing and his voice lets out a squawking sound and he cracks up laughing and theh says can i get a pick up from here and then all the musicians crack up ! That is one of the things l love about Elvis his ability to laugh at himself.

This was written in 1958 and there are some nice versions. One by Merle Haggard that has a good feel to it, But Elvis took it to a New Level that beats them all..The final cut by Elvis has a very Haunting intro with Organ, Church bell and piano chords...Played it at my Dad's Memorial in 2010..One of his favorites....

Hey Dani, that photo of the American Sound Studio, you just showed, is in that Elvis book I sent you. It’s freakin so awesome to read about the true history of places that Elvis visited. Loved this post so much.👍🇦🇺✌️❤️🤪☮️😁

I never really thought about it til I watched this video of yours but It takes me back to my dear mothers funeral. As I came down the stairs of our block the the car was waiting, loads of people had gathered around and many family members. As we drove through the 3 or 4 street on our estate before you get to the main road people lined the roadside and clapped as we passed. My heart was broken but I remember thinking I wasn't the only one that thought my mum was a beautiful person. My mum was a very quiet lady that would speak to any one that she met on her way.- thank you to the people that didnt forget.

Thank you very much Dani for another great reaction to Elvis. It is something truly special when a vocalist embodies a song and brings out the emotion, allowing the listener to feel that emotion. Music is the universal language and we all experience loss of loved ones. All I hope for is for each person to find a singer who touches their heart and thereby helps with the grieving process. I am blessed to have found one.
