I owned and flew a Musketeer in the early eighties . It was a great airplane.

It's an absolute treat to fly! Such a good little plane

The two doors and the bench set in the rear. Pretty cool.

Enjoyed watching! Flying this aircraft tomorrow will be my first experience in a low wing. Can’t find much online about Musketeers so finding this video was super helpful.

Thank you! I plan to do a whole video on the airplane and it’s flight characteristics at some point. A couple things I noticed with this coming from the 172 were lighter control pressures and quite a odd sight picture due to the extra downsloped cowling. Also prepare to use lots of rudder as there’s a fair amount of adverse yaw from those big ailerons. Overall it’s a very well behaved airframe and an absolute treat to fly

I appreciate the support! If you’re considering purchase, I’d recommend my 2 part series where I go over pretty much every aspect about how it flies. It may help you verify that it’s characteristics are what you’re looking for in an airplane. The performance specs are nearly identical to a multitude of aircraft in its class so it really comes down to personal preference. Also if there’s any specific that I didn’t cover, feel free to ask and I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions. Safe flying!

Great video...still laughing!

Haha thank you! My goal is to add enough humor to keep it entertaining while still taking the safety related flight duties very seriously

I worked in Raton for a year. Not my favorite place by any stretch but the airport guy was cool. Nice fbo. Getting checked out in a Musketeer this week at 1V6. Cheers!

Yeah the town of Raton isn’t super impressive, but the airport is fairly nice. I’ve got a video coming all about how the musketeer handles and some of its performance stats. My airplane got stranded in 1V6 due to whether while the ferry pilot was flying it back from Palm Springs. You’ll love the musketeer, it’s a fantastic little airplane to fly. Thanks for tuning in!

I'm in the same boat as you, building time, shooting cross country videos. I'm always learning, I think I'm going to switch to 'vlog' style videos rather than flights with music in the background. I've always been intrigued by the musketeers/sundowners as I trained in a piper cherokee, but the beech has 2 doors! Climbing in from the right gets old.

Thanks for watching! I wish you the best on your aviation journey. You’re right, most musketeers/sundowners have 2 doors, though, mine is the older model which only has one. So, you get to make a fool of yourself climbing in and out. It’s worth it though as it’s an absolute treat of an airplane to fly

What’s the useful load of your plane?
@kalvinwinder7 ай бұрын
The aircraft was weighed last summer and came out at exactly 1500lbs empty. The max gross weight is 2250lbs, giving a useful load of 750lbs or approximately 340kg.

When you get to 200 subscribers maybe I will send you some Ed Sheeran CD's! (wait, do they still make CD's?)- of course, then I would have to BUY some Ed Sheeran CD's, which would be embarrassing
@kalvinwinder Жыл бұрын
Ha! I would protect your reputation and not do that. If seen in public buying and Ed Sheeran CD, you’re subject to a 7 year sentence without parole

Hey, why don’t you do everybody a favor and show us the start up and checklist of actually getting the plane from the ground into the air you know actually post a video that shows people something
