DUDE!!!!!! This is awesome!!! I envy you right now, so much freedom! Please check your spokes after every ride, just pluck all of them like guitar strings and make sure they all sound the same. If the rim is going left in one spot, loosen the center spoke of the deformity on the left some and do the next 2 half as much, then go to the right side and tighten the ones exact opposite. This is a rough way to do it, look up a tutorial. You can do it on your bike with the wheel on, just remove the chain and use a paper clip wrapped to you frame with a tip resting next to your rim. Spin the wheel and tighten/loosen spokes as needed.

Hey men. Please do more videos of these long distance rides. You inspire me a lot. I've ridden my bike for a distance of 500km. Rode the bike for 8hours straight. Only taking breaks after 2 hours of riding. My butt was paining and the bag pack killing me on the shoulders. But it was fun. Came back home after a week and rode the bike for another 8 hours back home. Was a great experience for me. Motor kept going, only stopped to fix a puncher and getting more fuel.

I was looking for a way to live nomadically, and I've had the motor blow on my motorcycle and had to ditch it on the side of the freeway because I couldn't afford to repair it. So I was looking for a way to be mobile and go wherever I want, but also not have to worry about expensive repairs. And bicycle touring is just SOO physically demanding, and my body can't do it anymore. So I came up with the idea to travel by motorized bicycle. That way if the motor ever does break down, at least you can still pedal the bike back to town, or off the highway and get to the post office. But I did alot of searching online to see if anyone else was doing it, and it seems only a few other guys have really documented trips and posted them online. That's why I created this KZbin channel, to hopefully inspire other people to do it, and to entertain people who were considering the idea like I was at one time. Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you have an awesome day!

7:17 perfect sprocket alignment. No side to side or up/down wobble. Chain has no slapping. Keep an eye on all spokes, and bolts connecting the sprocket to the spokes. If one gets loose the whole wheel will be ruined by the imbalance. When you rode on a wheel with a missing/broken spoke, all other spokes were thrown off and ruined the wheel. Even riding a normal, non-motorized bike would have done this to your last wheel. Please don't neglect the new wheel and keep an eye on things. Not sure if you noticed it, but the spoke at exactly 3 oclock @ 2:48 is bent. I hope the bike guy helped you with that.

I think you made this video for me. I've been looking at all the long distance biking videos wondering if anyone had considered long distance motorized biking? This is the first one I've seen. I have been considering a 200 mile trip, figuring on taking my time, hoping I can do it in about 10 hours. So, long distance, like you are doing, motorized biking, like you are doing, and one more in common; traveling in Oklahoma. I live here and I'm planning on a trip from Henryetta to Enid. Like I said, you made this video for me. I just have to talk my hubby into going too. I may go it alone eventually, but I'd rather have a companion on my first venture. We are both semi-retired and I think it would be fun. Best of luck to you, and be careful out there. Thanks for the great video!

I'm building a 80's vintage beach cruiser with a cdhpower super pk80 I did port work on, added a mx65 pipe and rejetted my carb and have a stubby CNC intake along with a high compression head and high performance cdi. Also instead of using a hub mount adapter I removed the rear rotor and bolted my 36t sprocket and it's held up over 1000 miles and I use a 4L tank that gets me about 80miles a tank. Updated the crankset with a three piece using an American to euro adapter as well as added Sr suntour forks and some hydro brakes. And I mounted a vintage 70's banana seat, building it for reliability so I can potentially do a cross country journey like this

Sadly there's not enough people that can build a bike capable of close to highway speeds to warrant a designated lane for bikes like this. Im one of the few in my area that can build a bike to go 50mph but none of the cops bother me and are more impressed with the build than anything

Hey, I'm from Brazil and I'm planning to build a motorized bike with a 4 stroke engine to do some travel... But some people sayd the engine will break if I travel to long in a single day. Cau you tell me how long you go I one day, to prevent any problem to your engine? Thank you :)
@nomadnickbikehobo9598
@nomadnickbikehobo9598 3 жыл бұрын
That's not necessarily true. These things will run pretty consistently if they're oiled properly and you take breaks to do a little maintenance periodically. I rode 115 miles in one day and didn't have a single problem... Not just last week, but in Arizona too... I rode from sun valley, all the way to camp Verde in one day which is over a hundred miles... The next day, I took the top end apart and the Piston looked fine. There was no damage, so I put some oil down the spark plug hole after I put it back together and rode another 80 miles the very next day... I rode a total of like 200 miles in 2 days and the bike ran perfectly on the 3rd day and still hadn't damage to the Piston... So they'll run non-stop all day long if the fuel/oil ratio is right

@@DanielMontenegroBass whatever you do, don't buy a friction drive kit... The clutch bell on the friction drive breaks constantly. I bought the 49cc from bike berry, and the clutch bell broke like 5 out of the 8 times I rode it... I had to pedal almost 80 miles to get home and when I got home, I took it off the bike, put it on a shelf and said the heck with this thing
@nomadnickbikehobo9598
@nomadnickbikehobo9598 3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielMontenegroBass I prefer the 2 stroke kits over the friction drive... But I've never tried the 4-strojes that mount in the frame... However I will say that I finally figured out why the friction drive broke... The clutch works good... It works too good... The problem is that when your rpms are high, that centrifugal clutch doesn't want to let go of the bell... So if you chop the throttle and let off real quick, it will break the bell... The trick is to slowly wind up, and slowly rev down... Never cut the throttle fast when your going fast... If your at high rpms going fast, and you chop the throttle, it'll break the clutch bell every time... So idk man. Maybe after it's broken in more, or more worn down it would work better, but I got sick of replacing the clutch bells and just removed it from my bike... It was like a $260 motor kit too

Awesome....Iv'e been seriously considering doing this. It's just like bike-packing but motorized bike-packing. I was thinking a setup similar to yours but also with a small tow behind 1 wheel bike trailer. To carry more gear like a fishing pole & a tent just big enough that me & the bike can fit into. I see some pedal bike packers pulling a trailer so the motor should be fine. I'm building a motorized bike right now on a cheap Mongoose Exhibit 29in MTN bike....It has double wall extra spoke wheels (48 spokes) for more strength. I might switch from loose ball bearings to cartridge type wheel bearings. I was gonna go on short 3-4 day weekend camping road trips first to sort out which is the best gear to bring along. I seen a 16 yr old built a 49cc 4 stroke bike and traveled from Idaho to Minnesota.

@@nomadnickbikehobo9598 I read about his trip but he didn't make any videos. There are lots of bike packing & e-bike packing videos out there though. Sadly a 2 stroke engine kit isn't the best for long distance wide open throttle travel. He went thru a couple bike tires and brake pads.

I spend about $7 a day in gas to go to work. I just bought my engine now just gotta get an acceptable bicycle. But it good to nknow they good for distance cause it's about 17 miles one way . So being you went cross country I'm stoked. Although the very first thing I plan to upgrade if needed is the seat. Hopefully I can get a cheap bike with shocks, fenders and good seat. That just seems to me to be the most important. Well other than engine ofcourse.
