Great review and video mate. Like the shots and you did well with the small amount of water going through it! Great stuff pal!

Cheers Kieran. Yeah, got to take what nature gives you, I suppose. I'll be back after it's rained though!

Thanks for the review, Robert! I am always interested in the different accessories out there. I try to look for accessories that are good but not to terribly expensive. So this video was very helpful. I really liked it because it was hands-on.

Thanks Walter. Yes, certainly good value for money I think, I was fairly impressed. 😊

I've always liked the products made by K and F concept especially the filters, great breakdown showing the differences in each image Rob 👍

Cheers Ben. Yeah, I've been quite impressed with all the stuff I've tried so far, especially considering the price. Thanks for watching mate. 😊

Just back from a birthday weekend in the Lakes so catching up Robert ! Showing my ignorance here and I didn’t know there was a variable ND filter so that’s a new one on me. It’s a great idea like you said to avoid having to carry a number of filters in your case and from A UX design perspective you gave it a good rating plus the image quality remained high through the range. Good comments on the colour cast and auto white balance issue and easy to fix in post. Good review and enjoyed the images too !

Thanks Andrew, and happy birthday! Hopefully you've got some awesome lakes videos coming up then! 😊

Nice review Robert! I have almost grabbed a K&F a few times, but ended up forking out the extra cash for Breakthrough Photography. The variable would be great for vlog and video work too. Great work man!
@Robert-Bishop3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Paul Cook spoke very highly of Breakthrough too. I'm not familiar, but will have a look. Thanks for watching mate. 😊

Looks a good filter there Robert. Photos did look nice and sharp.

Thanks Andrew. Yeah, difficult place to get good light as it's pretty shady. The shots worked well to test the filter though. Thanks for watching. 😊

Looks great Robert, I have the variable filter as well and do enjoy using it. :)
@Robert-Bishop3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sandra. How do you think it compares to regular (none variable) ND filters?
@SandraJsAdventuresOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@Robert-Bishop Well, I just bought a 10 stop filter because the variable gets that dreaded x factor when I dial it close to 10. So I did want a couple filters that are fixed, like the 10 stop. I have not had a chance to use it yet. So the variable is ok up to about 8 1/2 to 9 on mine.

Cool, I look forward to seeing your super long exposures then! 😊

Nice review that mate , K and F seem to do some great reasonably priced gear and you showed that really well. Nice location as well. Soon be breaking that 1k subs !!
@Robert-Bishop3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was sceptical at first because the prices were so low, but the products are actually pretty decent. Location is really easy to get to - I'm definitely going to go back in autumn, I think the falls will have plenty of water then. And yes, can't believe I'm in sight of the big 1K! Super pleased about that. Thanks for watching mate. 😊

Great video and demonstration Robert! Looks like a pretty good Var ND filter! The quality looked pretty sharp as you said, and the slight colour change isn't really much of a bother. And for the price point you can't beat it really. I use Breakthrough Photography filters, a little more pricey, but I've always been happy with them (zero colour cast) but they have production issues so maybe someday I might need a change. Or this could be handy in a travel situation to not have to carry three or four filters around. Great stuff mate, lovely shots. Too bad that water wasn't flowing a bit more though! Hope you are doing well and had a great weekend!

Cheers Paul, not heard of those filters before, are they US based? I'm definitely going back to this spot when we've had more rain - I think there's a really good shot to be had, but it's one of those that's going to require work and timing! Cheers for watching mate. 😊

@@Robert-Bishop yeah mate, I believe breakthrough photography is a california-based company. They make great ND filters but every time I look at them they are on backorder. Small company that just can't keep up with the demand.

For £70 you could do a lot worse than that from the look of it - there's far more expensive filters out there that give huge amounts of colour cast. So for a variable at that price, it looks like it performed pretty admirably. I've seen quite a few reviews of ND filters over the last couple of years, you're the first I can remember seeing to take a control shot to measure against, great job mate.
@Robert-Bishop3 жыл бұрын
Strange, you would have thought the control shot would be a necessity to make a judgement! It's certainly a good little filter, and when you consider the price of 9 separate filters, bit of a bargain really. Thanks for watching mate. 😊
