idk if you already found out but 100% acrylic yarn would be the best to use, n id say it's up to you how big you want your locs so keep adding more strands to get your desired thickness, n also braiding your hair before you wrap the yarn would be much easier to get the right shape

Mines didn’t have any issues I went swimming several times and I also shampoo often, afterwards I actually oil my scalp, hot oil treatments while in and sometimes I sit under dryer to dry or air dry with silk scarf on..

Yes dipping them is a must, first time I did mines I did not dip they were so stiff😩 after that my next ones I have been faithfully dipping 😀 and their not heavy and very flexible
