The extra clothes are an essential! A few years ago I went on a flight to Hong Kong and 1 hour into the flight I opened my soda and it sprayed ALL over me. I had to put paper towels inside my joggers for the rest of the flight because I didn’t have a change of clothes so now I always have a spare set on long haul flights

I'm leaving on my first Japan trip in 2.5 days.. so this is perfectly timed to make sure I haven't missed anything! I might be overpacking on wet wipes because of your last carry-on packing video; I never thought to wipe down the seat etc before. I hate sticky or crumby things on my hands, so I usually carry some for that anyway in case I can't get to a sink ❤

Aloha Echan, Another killer video. Two things I love for my once a month planes rides. Especially since I’m normally going from Honolulu to the East Coast. 1: Tide sink packs or paper detergent sheets. I can easily wash my flight clothes while wearing my emergency backpack clothes if for some reason I don’t have access to my clothes. There are some really good all natural ones for the Whole Foods crowd too. 2: I basically switch my whole travel wardrobe to Unbound Merino. While not cheap I can pack a whole 14 days worth of clothing in under 10 pounds (8.2). I’m 6’0’ 260 XXL and with Unbound Merino, tees, boxers, socks and Patagonia Travel pants I’m good to go. They don’t wrinkle, stink and dry hella fast. I got wifey rocking UBM tees, tanks and dresses and her clothes are hella light now too. Totally worth checking out. There are cheaper options but UB is hella soft. Quince might even sponsor you 😂 Japan in 10days so hella excited. Mahalo as always

For me I prefer a backpack with a crossbody bag. I like wearing my foldable Uniqlo jackets because it has tons of pockets I can put my essentials /passport etc into while on the plane.

Oh yes another thing I forgot in my other comment. I’ve tested this and it works. If your fanny/hip pack is on your waist it counts as your clothing not your bags. So no need to stuff it in your backpack/carryon and pull it out. I have done on Hawaiian Air, JetBlue, Alaska, Delta and reluctantly on American. I would never fly Spirit, Frontier or United 😂 Fanny packs are considered personal attire, and thus it's not part of your carry-on entourage. (Check with your Airlines) or ask for forgiveness rather than permission 😂

What I do for travel, instead of fanny pack in the airport, I have a hoodie with zip pockets and said pockets are really deep so things I'll need immediate access to can go in there and also the pockets are so deep that I often put stuff in there that won't fit in my personal item. And since the pockets are zipped if I get warm in the airport I can tie it round my waist or under the seat in front on the plane and not worry about losing stuff. I also have this like lanyard thing for my phone I bought in Japan. I've never had anyone complain when getting on a plane but if they did I'd just shove in pocket while getting on the plane then back on when seated. If I feel myself falling asleep, I'll just be sure to tuck it under my shirt. I'm going on holiday in just under 2 months and SUPER excited already so watching travel vids to pass the 2 months (I'm also a hella nervous flyer and it's a looonnggg flight so trying to keep watching flight vids)

In 2024, I believe that TSA allows up to 12oz of hand sanitizer in its original packaging and does not count it as liquid. You can pack it outside of your liquids bag. Same goes for prescription medication, it does not count against your liquid limit even if it is a cream, gel, etc.

Ooo here is my Japan carry on only video! This is how I was able to do it! What you need is laundry machine! A one week trip can turn into a 2 months trip with the same items! @@yorurei4047 this bag for sure fits under the seat on air Canada, asiana, Japan air, southwest, Hawaiian, and American 🤗 I haven’t been on a budget airline to Europe but I know other budget airlines like spirit for sure you have to have a tiny tiny personal item. All the stuff I have in this video will fit in a regular backpack :) so if that fits under the seat on a budget European airline, that shape might be better 🤗
