Long Gun Stoppage drill dry-fire practice

Long gun transition stoppage drill.
Drill context: Long gun - empty magazine. Pistol - type one stoppage (failure to fire, which leads to an empty magazine in this particular practice).
This drill is one way to get both guns up and running again, quickly and efficiently. Whether you're using a B.A.D lever, cocking handle or bolt catch/release, there's more than one way to skin a cat.
If we're fortunate enough to have our long gun set-up with a Battery Assist Device (B.A.D) lever, this is the drill I like to practice. If no B.A.D lever, I'm a fan of using the charging handle over the bolt catch/release. Using the charging handle puts less lateral moment into the gun/barrel. As opposed to striking the side of the gun to manipulate the bolt catch/release. Less about gross-motor Vs. fine-motor dexterity than muzzle movement influence... However, this is often debatable based on shooter preference.

That drill is a lot harder when Randy has the timer on you and it includes dime sized targets. :) if you get the chance, take as many classes as you can with Randy. 4 months later and I’m still trying to perfect some of his drills. Awesome instructor.
