What works well for asymmetric hair styles is combing your hair to the opposite of where you want them, e.g. if you've combed them to the right then after taking off the helmet you comb them to the left and they'll maintain tons of volume because they got compressed to the right and will try to lift to that side. It requires practice, though, because one false move and half your hair doesn't match the direction of the other half... in a bad way.

I have a massive head. XXL with the thinnest padding available is still quite tight (Could never find XXXL in stock to try). For the first time in my life, due to covid lockdowns,I'm rocking longish hair and I absolutely could not figure out how to get my helmet on without having hair in my face. I've got a bunch of neck gaiters, but I had never dawned on me to use one as you've illustrated. THANK YOU!

Your welcome, glad it helped 👍🏻 I have a similar problem (all be it on a small helmet) where for something to fit I can’t have the sena speakers in and certain scull caps would make the lid too tight. I’ll be doing a video soon on my estranged journey to finally finding a helmet that fits! Keep your eye on the channel 😉

I have been using both a balaclava and a neck roll. Gotta say neck roll is my favourite as it’s lighter, softer and feels more comfortable. I have using it by folding inwards in a double ply mode so that extra neck roll don’t stay at the back of my neck.

Or.... You get a modular helmet. They are excellent for preserving your hair. I alway open the helmet and put it on in a sliding motion to the back. This way, all my hair is retained to the back, and will come out looking sharp, even with product in my hair. It will also not go in my eyes while riding. It's similar to a Jet helmet when putting on, an then you fold down the chin bar. Done. Only downside, you have less good looking options and they can be a bit heavier.

I hear what you’re saying. I scrape my hair back (like putting in a pony tail), put on a head protector (snood, wig net, skull cap, etc).
