Regarding 3:21 the Sea to Summit Aluminum Spork is not powder coated which is a paint application process utilizing electrostatic charge and then baked until fusion. Instead the aluminum is hard anodized which is a electrochemical process which produces a hard surface skin consisting of Aluminum Oxide. Also on the Toaks Titanium Spork the matte finish on its handle is also not powder coated. Instead it is glass bead blasted which is similar to sand blasting.

I carry the Toaks. Only reason why i choose it was because it popped up first on Ebay. It just fits the length of my chest rig.

They are not powder coated. It's just a blasted finish. They are both made from just pure base metal. Blasting is a cheap and non-precise way of getting rid of manufacturing surface blemishes. I bought a double ended Boundless Voyage (similar to the light my fire) which was rough throughout. Cant take a rough bowl. Ended up polishing the spoon and fork ends. Left the mid part rough. Lol

Any experience with the toaks and zip lock freezer bag meals?, was wondering with the toaks being sharper if it might be too sharp for freezer bag meals and poke a hole in it it?, have the sea to summit but might give the the toaks a try , i like the smooth bowl, nice review!

As an interesting comparison, inclusion of a polycarbonate spoon would probably be enlightening. As light weight, if not lighter. And way less expensive. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

It is my experience that the aluminum sporks are stiffer than the titanium.

Aluminum is not safe to use long term. Also, why the long handled sporks when everyone carries a cutting tool, or can quite simply roll down the bag top down to eat from? Sounds like glamper complaints to me.

I prefer optimus or toaks polished handle spoon over a spork. Easy to clean as food sticks in those spork parts and sporks don't work well.. Long handled ti spoons for the win!
