Just doesn't seem to have the hubbub as before the pandemic. Know they got rid of the Hamptons Reserve Service. Also thought there was talk of no longer allowing standees on the train. Have watched these videos for a couple of years now. Every Friday night seemed to be "over-busy". Whole thing now just lacks something in atmosphere.

You are absolutely right. It's totally different now, post-Pandemic and post-Hamptons Reserve Service. However, I am sure that Friday June 28, and possibly also the Wednesday July 3 train, will have large crowds. We'll see.

I think it’s definitely time for the railroad to consider reimagining the Cannonball. Maybe lease cars that are more appropriate for long distance travel, or allow a private company to offer their cars with the LIRR crews either still operating the train, or piloting a third party crew. Reserved seating should be brought back, as well as some sort of drink and snack service.

@@rpm2night Look at Wilipedia. There's a full history of the Cannonball including it's use of Parlor Cars. Interesting.

I know it gets busy during memorial day, july 4th, and labor day. But does this train gets busy the rest of the summer?

Not so much any more as it was before COVID. At least that's the way it now appears to me, and others. Perhaps now, because it is still early June, weekend travel to the East End may be dependent on the weather forecast for the June weekends. July and August weekends may once again be very busy and crowded because the forecast is calling for a much hotter summer than the past few years. Another possibility s that people are traveling on the earlier morning and afternoon trains. Today the morning train to Montauk was operating 15 to 20 minutes late because of the high passenger volume.

You should change it up and get a video from the east end of the platform.
