Long Island Sound BlackFish Tog Fishing in the Shallow 20+ fish

Today we are out in the middle of long island looking for our first keeper blackfish in the shallow. We had to weed out countless number of short blackfish just to manage a couple of keepers 19" and 16" to brig them home. None stop action the entire outing.

I do stay in the shallow during the first 3 weeks of tog season. As weather gets colder, I'll go to other places.

how do u stay in same spot? achor to the bottom?

Yes I use anchor and just jam a pcs of lumber with rope attached to the rock jetty depending on flow of current.
