Long Lake Jumbo Perch - Ice Fishing 🎣

Follow along as Uncle Dale and I join a group of friends on Long Lake In Presque Isle county chasing after some jumbo perch!! It was a great day, made some great friends including a couple new fur buddies! Hope you enjoy!

Great video, helpful tips. What type of line you using on your jigging rods? Looks like 4 or 6lb mono..definitely going to order some of your spinner rigs for tip ups. I fish mainly lk st clair which is a lot of hand over hand, shallow water usually no reel. Gonna have to purchase some new reels and rods for long/grand lake trips...

Graduated from Lakeland HS in Minocqua way back sometime ago. Miss fishing those area's. I live in SW Wisconsin now and fish the Mississippi a lot. Caught a limit of 9 to 12in perch today and had 3 of em over 14in as well. All my big one's came on tip ups today.

My father fished this lake in 1918 with his father, I fished this lake with my father in 1964 and then I fished with my nephew in 2000. It produced perch and walleyes from then until present day.

I really like this lake. The perch size are outstanding. I plan on camping out there with my pups next week

Instead of a split shot marking your depth use a bobber just around one if the fish sets It Off and spits it out the bobber pulls it back up into the strike range underneath the ice

The fish always run a ways the bobber will never come back up, plus that adds extra friction when the fish is pulling it which could cause them to drop it

Those are some of the biggest perch I have ever seen that's just awesome and remember hit that like button that's gonna be a good dinner that's one thing I miss the most since I moved too Indiana from Michigan is a good perch fry

That many big perch almost makes me think you're fishing Lake Gogebic instead of Long Lk. I haven't targeted perch in Long Lake since I was a kid back in the late 70's. I mainly target bass in there.

I summer fished that lake probably 45 years ago so long ago I don't remember where the public access is. Now I don't travel to far from my hometown about 1 1/2 hour drive from the south of Alpena. Great catch

I've fished it a few times and although I never catch a ton they're always quality fish. I've always gone out to the middle of the lake, around 18' of water. It's basically just a big mud flat but the fish are cruising that all day

Everyday at my house! Haha, there are so many good lakes. My best advice to start out is to head to one of your favorite summer fishing holes with a tub of waxworms, an ice rod. And since ice jigs, it's really easy to get started. They can always email me for some info too
