Himiway sent me their Cruiser model for testing. After a month of riding with 80miles on the clock I have a few things to say about it.

*Speed unlock:* kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3atnaCif66MqNE *Few things I missed* This ebike is UK legal despite having a throttle. The throttle is capped at 5kph so it passes EPAC standards. You can unlock it to 40kph by entering a special code on the dash. I'll do a separate video on that. There is a rear red light that flashes when you hit the brakes. I'm impressed with how close I got to Himiway's "60mile range" claim despite me being rough with it in testing. Usually manufacturers over exaggerate their range but I believe with the Himi Cruiser could have passed 60miles if I was easy on it. *PRO or CON?* I received feedback that the pedal assist kicks in strongly. This wasn't a problem for me, but it's possible a less experienced rider might find the surge of power intrusive. I have read online it's possible to lower the pedal assist surge power via the secret menu.

An additional seatpost with parallelogram suspension and your ride is a charme. I get 70km far with one battery.

Good shout. I've got one of them El Cheapo Amazon suspension seat posts. Does a good job on my other bike. I'll fit it to this on the weekend

What the pedal sensor? Cadence or torque? Been looking at this bike and it seems good bang for buck in the UK, great review 👍💪

I've not seen any mention of torque in the manual so it's safe to assume it's just cadence. I'm still riding this, still going strong

I see you have a rock on the kickstand to help keep your bike from leaning to far over. The food of the kickstand is adjustable. There’s a screw behind the rubber foot that you can remove and lower the rubber foot down to make your bike stand up starter then it is. Try it and you will see it won’t lean over so far.

Thanks for the suggestion. The rock was just for positioning the bike in the archway because the floor beneath the bike there is uneven

Can you. Unlock the speed in the uk. Even it’s restricted to 15mph

I have this bike and another cheaper ebike and this one for not a lot more money was way better. Notice that it has fenders, integrated lights and included luggage rack. My other one had none of those. The fat tires (yes, I'm the US) are much much more capable on rough pavement and cracked sidewalks, the skinny racing bike tires are horrible. And here in the states we get a 750w motor so it's more faster on top of all that (although the range suffers especially when you're lazy and don't bother to pedal).

Is the rear hub motor really 250W as stated on the UK website??? I ask as the US has a 750watt motor?....

That's correct. The UK model is UK road legal.

@@blurayffan66 There'll definitely an overall sacrifice of torque. This UK 250 version can be unlocked to go 40kph. I believe the US 750 version can be unlocked to go 56kph. One benefit I believe the UK version will have is better range. It explains why my results were so good

One last question ...that's great concerning increased range on the UK model...but I assume the 250watt motor won't perform as well as the 450watt in sand on the beach? I live in Spain and was planning to get this bike for long rides on the beach...???

The HAOQI Cheetah is a much better value than Himiway Cruiser at its price. It would be fantastic if the Himiway Cruiser were to get a 48V20Ah battery instead of a 48V17.5Ah while also keeping the price the exact same at $1,599.

Hey pal, I was interested in checking out what you're saying so I just watched a review of a HQ by a youtuber called Scott Hardesty. He only manages to get 32miles out of his 48V20Ah version. Something seems off

@@Premises187It’s quite weird how a electric bike with more watt hours got considerably less range than a electric bike with less watt hours. If the range claim on Himiway Cruiser is 35-60 miles then the HAOQI Cheetah should be 50-86 miles but it doesn’t always seem to be that way somehow.

I had one the motor will overheat and the cable will melt and no bike shop will fix it becuase its illegal

1) This is UK legal, 250w motor, 24kph top speed and the throttle cuts at 5kph. 2) I struggle to believe "refused because illegal" because it's not a repair shops business if you're using it on the road or legally on private property. Sounds like the shop was just being funny with you. 3) I've read many independent reviews on the Himi Cruiser before accepting this bike (very important because I'd never want to be responsible for misleading my audience). I've never seen anyone complain of fried cables!

Battery life indeed. If it only lasts two years, why would you pay £1700 with another £500 to replace the battery. And the uk regulations limit the power to 250w which doesn’t strike me as worth the premium cost compared to a normal bike. Frankly, for £1700 you could be the proud owner of a nifty 125cc motorbike with unlimited range and modest running costs.

125cc? Why spend out on a motorbike that will cost you extra i.e. rip off insurance, tax, MOT’s petrol, services and add on’s? You mentioned 2 years battery life? My last ebike lasted 6 years on the same battery before some slag nicked it 🤬 the ebike I got now has Panasonic batteries inside which will give me another 6-8 years, why try and slag a guy and bike off when you know nothing of what you are talking about?????🤔✊💦
