My friends and I never fly long range together, not worth the risk of causing interference with each other, particularly if you are standing that close together. Pretty sure that was your problem. Just wait for one guy to get his flight in then do yours. Its only 10 minutes in most cases or less.

He didn't wait to see enough satts on osd and got prompted bout it while arming. In Betaflight you can choose number of satts to lock and if quad will arm without satts locked.
