Thank you very much indeed for this excellent advice and clear demonstration of how to introduce a young horse to long reining. Really excellent.

This is such an incredibly thorough and well presented video! Everything is very clear and I love your classical approach. I'm so sad to see classical dressage slowly disappearing as more and more gadgets are invented for a "quick fix". I'm glad I was trained from a classical approach and have used in hand and long rein training throughout my horses career and continue to do so! I didn't really know much about methods other than the English methods though! I'm interested to give the others a go, particularly the Danish method as I think my girl is really for some more collected work now. Thank you so much for a great video! Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Thank you for such a lovely comment! It is a shame to see "modern dressage" taking over and gadgets becoming more and more of the norm. I was lucky to find Heather Moffett and train as an Enlightened Equitation teacher with her. There really is no comparison to correct classical methods! The sylvia stainer book mentioned is well worth a read for long reining, you can usually pick up a copy on eBay for less than £5! Glad you enjoyed :D

What do you do when your horse keeps turning in?
@TeamTLS1012 жыл бұрын
I think I cover this in the second video, but in the case of a horse turning in or trying to turn around you may need a helper to lead them to start with and gradually wean them out, once the horse understands where they are meant to be going
