Apart from the obvious (ski suit etc), SPF especially an SPF lipbalm is a must, (the sun reflects off the snow and can burn) well fitting ski gloves with some separate super thin silky inner gloves keep your hands super warm and a disposable camera so you don't have to take your phone or an expensive camera up the mountains! I'd also say (if you're totally new to skiing) have plenty ski lessons before you go so you dont have to waste time and money learning on holiday. Also if you can find a good outdoor or army/navy supply shop near you that rents out ski helmets and ski suits/goggles etc you can save a ton of money that way on.

I can definitely sympathize with Mike! Having to wait like this because of someone else's mistake (especially after this person was already forgetful during the week) would be infuriating! And then getting stuck in traffic, and someone getting your order wrong... There are days when you feel like the world is out to annoy you as much as possible haha
