@@kunjpatel9274 Yes, there is a difference in weight between both engines. Long stroke engine tend to be heavier than short stroke engine, but this difference is compensated with extra parts of liquid cooling in short stroke engine.

Speaking of long life will depend on how both engines are maintained. Both engines can last for same life span but a short stroke engine will require more attention when it comes to maintenance compared to a long stroke engine. So the maintenance period for a short stroke engine will be shorter compared to the long stroke engine. And with maintenance period, I mean the duration between two oil changes or any other required periodic changes.

Dono engines ka almost same maintenance hota hai. Like for example I own Continental GT 535, and my friend owned a KTM Duke 390, humara dono ka maintenance almost same hota tha. Sirf KTM fully synthetic oil use karti jo almost Rs 1000/litre price hota hai, aur usme hardly 1.5litre oil use hota hai, aur continental GT mein 3 litre oil use hota tha aur mostly semi-synthetic use karte hai so uski price almost ktm ke oil se match hoti hai. So maintenance almost same hota hai.

Getz ka engine displacement zyada hai, 1341cc, while Swift ka engine displacement is just 1197cc. 144cc ke volume ko compensate karne keliye zyada fuel lagega na. Thats why swift's engine has better mileage.

@@ashwinkale6561 Are you talking about Karizma ZMR and Dominar 250. Kyuki Karizma ZMR ka mileage dominar se zyada hai. Also please dont entirely trust those mileage figures claimed by manufacturer or ARAI, they are measured on a specific track under specific conditions. Real driving conditions mein yeh pura scenario change ho sakta hai, there have been times ki dominar 400 ka mileage previous gen RE classic 350 se better nikla hai, in real driving conditions.

Both engines will work equally in mountains as well. We already have two such motorcycles that are made for off roading and adventure, the himalayan the ktm's adv 390. Himalayan has a long stroke engine while adv 390 has a short stroke engine, but 390s engine not aggressively short stroke, additionally ktm has increased the rear wheel sprocket ratio for good wheel torque which is necessary for off roading. And both bikes perform amazingly in mountains, yeah professional riders would prefer himalayan because it can be easily handled on rough terrain. If i was to buy an adv bike i would go for adv 390 for its features and i aint gonna take my bike off roading on daily basis.

@@uttarandutta378 Actually low oxygen content might affect the old carburetted engines, but current electronically controlled engines don't get affected much. My friend rode his adv 390 to umlingla, and he mentioned that his bike gave slightly better fuel efficiency, which made me shock, but the engine was revving on higher rpms to produce torque at high altitudes and high gradients. other than that it worked fine.
