Great to see you review these boots! The X-Power has been out for a while and is my weapon of choice for anything off the pavement. Some minor corrections and add-ons to your review: -There are actually three variants of the X-Power: the standard X-Power (with stitched non-lugged soles), the X-Power Enduro (with stitched lugged soles), and the X-Power SC (with bonded soles). The SC is the newest, lightest option. -The liner in the X-Power line (not just the Enduro model) is made from a waterproof fabric, but it is not seam sealed and is therefore not waterproof. Brian at Atomic Moto will back this up. The crush/fold-over protection on the X-Power boots are why they're my go-to for off-pavement riding. I've worn them for 11hrs of riding and walking and found them comfortable at the end of the day. They're flexible enough for walking, but sturdy enough to keep me safe. They've already taken a couple hits from my bike and both the boots and I have come away unscathed.

I have the Enduro version. I love these boots. They are better than Crossfires. Actually, my X-Powers already saved me once from a broken ankle when I dropped my 790R while cornering on a muddy track and my foot got stuck between the bike and the ground. Highly recommended!

Wear the Sidi x-power and like them a lot. My first mx boot and use them as an adventure boot riding 701. Hated them at first, typical of learning mx boots. Love them now. Broke in easy. They are noisy when walking but I dont care. They are comfortable and great protection.

Great points on your review, esp. the height of the toes for the shifting…a fan of Sidi boots as have tried on Gaerne but for large calves I have found Sidi’s work well, and the adjustability of the Cross Fire 3’s upper plates help too. As you pointed out though, the Sidi’s have a narrow box…as many manufacturers seem to think we all have narrow feet! One suggestion…many years ago a Redwing shoe dealer got me a boot dryer…after brushing off the dirt, a simple wipe down clean up, then simply slide them over the tubes, and then convection drying…by morning a soaked boot is slightly warm but all dry, has made such a difference in keeping all my boots fresher longer, I have not put powder in boots in a very long time. Thank you for the videos, keep ‘em coming.

"The X-power is possibly the widest toe-box of any boot I've used." - Bret Tkacs. Internet: so you're saying is that all Sidis are too narrow, right? They dumb.

Had Crossfires 2 before. Very big reason to switch to to X-Power SC's is weight difference if You are in dualsport/taveller category. Huge difference - about 0.5kg on a single boot. And comfort difference is indisputable in favor to X-Power.

Awesome evaluation and explanation. The only boot that fits my calves is the Leatt 5.5's, I cannot wear knee armor and fit in my boots. In saying that the Leatts are exceptional boots.

Good morning Bret, currently only ride commute. You are talking about boot maintenance during this video, something about powder? Could you make a video about boot maintenance routine tips?

I have skinny calves but still love my Tech 7 for enduro riding as they fit snug eveywhere. I also wear Mobious knee braces. They are a bit too much for my occassional offroad riding on a Honda Transalp ADV bike.

I wish there was a location nearby me in interior Alaska that carried some of these boots to try on, as I have wide toes and big calf’s (17.5” diameter so some riding socks don’t fit either). As mail order does not offer return shipping to Alaska and at these prices I want to be sure it fits before I purchase.

Call Atomic-Moto.com. they have been known to have you send a tracing of your foot and consult with you for a good fit. They don't want returns or unhappy customers either. I don't get any kickbacks but if they know I sent you they will make damn sure to take care of you 😉

I got Leatts last year for myself, trying to convince my brother to pony up for better boots but trying to find wide enough boots to be all-day comfortable has been an expensive adventure.

If you wear over the boot riding pants the Sidis look like a much better choice than the Tech 7s. That said, I don't have a pair of Tech 7s and have no idea how well pants fit over the top of them.

So if you had to pick between Crossfire vs X-Power, if protection most important factor rather then cost?

Brett do you have any tips on shifting or setting up shifters when wearing these stiff boots? I wear a size 13 tech 7 enduro and have a hell of a time up shifting
@ridemfast76253 ай бұрын
I installed an offset peg shifting lever. Provides more room between foot pegs and shift lever. Can also install footpegs that are offset, move back compared to oem.

Any advice on sizing? Do they run true to size or do I need to go up or down?
@ridemfast76253 ай бұрын
True to size. I wear 11 in tennis shoes. Ordered the 46/11.7 us and my toes have never touched the end of the boot toe box. I "think" a 45/11 us would have been better...

I can walk all day with my Sidi adv 2, very confortable, doubt you can do that with the x power or any other " motocross" boot. The sole has great grip and they provide very decent protection. The only point where they are short is the same point where all motocross boots also fail, lateral protection . If you drop the bike on the SIDE and the leg gets trqpped between the bike and a rock theres no boot that can help.
@Js117933 ай бұрын
Has anyone tried this boot with the enduro tread? Is the stiffness of the sole the same? I want to keep the protection while gaining a little walking traction.
@g0biАй бұрын
Tried both and to me they seem the same to me.
