I’ve had two knives in Magnacut that had issues. The first one turned a rainbow of colors rather badly on its first use with food. The second one kept developing rust spots in about 15 places which developed into pits. The first one was replaced with no further issues. Like you, my second one I have yet to bother getting it corrected, even though the maker has expressed a problem and said they would be happy to correct it. Both were from small mid-tech makers using Niagra’s Crucible steel and Peter’s Heat Treatment. I have two other production Magnacut blades with no issues...

This is very interesting. What make and model are your knives where you experienced this problem with Magnacut?

How does it fit in the pocket for edc. I’m thinking about getting one
@sharpends42796 ай бұрын
The fun size one is larger for an in pocket carry and I'd honestly think about getting the mini overland for that purpose. When I wear this knife I put it in a cargo pants or Carhartt tool pocket.

Just picked up an Overland Sport and I really like it. I ordered a Survive GSO 3.5 many years ago and it took 66 months to be delivered!! It however, is a good knife

At least you got your knife. I ordered two blades (late 2020 and early 2021) and will never get them or my money back.

All Magnacut is patented and produced by Crucible Industries through their CPM process, then rolled and distributed by Niagara Specialty Metals. Therefore no other companies can or do make Magnacut at this point and won’t until the patent expires. Also Larrin worked exclusively with Crucible to develop and patent Magnacut then I’m sure with Niagara at some point as well during the initial release. I don’t mean to be that guy but you had some things in there that would be considered misinformation and figured I’d just throw the facts out there! Also TJ is a phenomenal knife designer/maker and the overland is such an awesome knife!

I used a Sharpie marker on my Overland when sharpening. The markings are embedded into the blade and will not come off. I polished the surface (which ruined the finish) but if you tilt the blade to a certain angle the markings are still there....used alcohol, thinners, bleach etc. Still there...

Lmao. Buying $300 knives and you need a sharpie to sharpen it?

Wicked wax brother. You can put it on your knife, handle heck even your ulti clip. Tbh putting a Wicked wax coat on your stuff every so often you'd probably wouldn't ever get another coated blade again. And you said you use it in the kitchen no problem its food safe shoot you could probably scarf a chunk down ina pinch to get you through. And i highly recommend pairing it with Wicked clean.

I don't have a problem with it either. It seems like they got a bad batch? I mean his video seem pretty convincing and I don't think all other makers are covering up anything. It would be a grand conspiracy if that's the truth. But what do I know?

Exactly! Do you know the story about the boy who cried wolf. Survive Knives have come up with so many excuses why hundred of people have been waiting years for their knives, why should I believe anything they have to say now? I ordered and paid for a knife in S90V in 2020, have still not received it. Will he come out next and explain that S90V also has mysterious voids appearing? Smells of bullshit.
