Longaberger Basket Rescue / Thrifted Longaberger Becomes French Country Decor / DIY REPURPOSED FLIP

I have #collected #longabergerbaskets for YEARS!!! I have many that are The Traditions Series. I also have The Crisco Basket as well as many of The JW Baskets. (and many, many more) I even have yards of Longaberger fabric. I have kept all of these baskets in pristine condition. But...when out thrifting you come across an abandoned and neglected basket I have always felt the need to "help" them by giving them new life! That's what this project is. That's what this series will be about! I am taking a weathered 1996 Longaberger Darning Basket and transforming it into a thing of beauty!!!

Great job, it looks amazing. I have one that's a collector (with US flag, 25th Anniversary Series) that unfortunately lost one of the rivets that hold the handle. Any suggestion on how to fix ?

Actually you could try the screw in rivets for leather belts. They have different lengths and widths. You will also want to find one that is a flat head, no screw driver indentations. If the whole isn't wide enough simply drill it out a little bit until it fits. If you search on line a lot of options should appear. You might also find rivets in craft stores with the paper crafts (these may not be long enough though). What ever option you choose use a matching one on the other side so no one will ever be the wiser! Good luck Zoe! Let me know if any of these options work.
