funny tangent about fresh-ish race wheels - a mate of mine loves skating seismic alphas, but he HATES the fresh/scrubbed stage of them. His solution: use an angle grinder to freehand stonegrind them

Haha I mean if you aren't racing you don't need the skin so "stone grinding" them is great idea!

To add to this excellent detailing of wheel conditions and details , re: swirling- from what Remember Wheel Co told me a while ago - is the urethane mixture ingredients settle or don't retain a complete mix prior to pour and thus curing occurs more rapidly in oilspot like swirls of the goop and then they cure get shaped and packed; the ride can be tolerable but if your on a high end, sensitive setup and grip running on newer tarmac that's smooth, it will feel like they have flatspots or an affected ride. Premium wheels do this less than mids ; some can be tolerable ( big cored) than some others if swirled. This is completely different than the swirling wear that Venom Mags can get on really fast grip runs..the skin wears off in layers but that is different .....

Super interesting, I didn't know swirling could be bad enough to affect how the feel while rolling!

I've noticed way less coning on my narrow, short-wb freeride setup versus my big, wide freeride setup.
