Longboat Key Shelling in May

I shot this video last May while I was visiting Longboat Key. The water was stunning it was super clear and very pretty. Longboat Key may not be super famous for shelling in Florida but it still is very fun place to visit. While we were kayaking in a canal on the bay side we found some enormous live horse conch and live football sized lightning whelks(no exaggeration) just enjoying their day. then we got to say hello to a dozen manatees. Yet if you compare this island with Marco Island or Kice island clearly it isn't the shell heaven. But we found cool looking ancient shells and some flat scallops and some good sized shark eyes. Additionally, in my experience this island is the best place for high quality spiny jewel boxes. No matter what I find on the beach, there is no bad day on the beach:)
