Thank you for the fantastic overview and review! My issue with the XL tote, and many totes with a similar shape, is that the base is so small, that, essentially, most of the size of the bag feels as though it will be wasted, because everything is going to pool in the much smaller base of the bag. And I agree with you, as short as I am, anything that large is nearly going to be scraping on the ground for me if I have to hand carry it.

Great video and analysis!! I was excited to see the Epure XL tote but then I looked closer and thought that It's the kind of bag that looks good in pictures - especially on holiday - but doesn't look like it will function that well as a bag :( I have tried the Epure XS crossbody but found it both too small and too bulky at the same time - your experience may be different bc I also find the smile bag too small. I agree with you totally that the XS tote bag is adorable and very tempting. Also agree that it is expensive for what it is. Longchamp prices are indeed going up. I was eyeing a different style bag on their site an out a month ago and when I went back to the website the next week and the price had gone up quite a bit. Will be interesting to see what that does to the brand. Everyone's prices are increasing but Longchamp is creeping up into the next level. They seem to have gained a lot of popularity so that may continue but they may also just become out of range for some. Or better put the cost to value equation may not be there. I love Longchamp but definitely have found myself looking in other directions for similar styles at better values more lately. Also love Seton's Chanel!! 💗

Hi Lmcdowell 😘💖 thanks so much for your comment 😘💖 your analysis is just brilliant 👍👍 once again you nailed it perfectly and i agree on every point you mentionned 👍👍 The advantage of the smile bag comes from the leather which enables to put more things, the russian leather is more rigid, that's the reason why i can use the smile but have difficulties with the XS Epure. Yes the prices are insane, 2 price increase per year is wayyyy too much! And i can tell you that in France i know a lot of people won't go on buying Longchamp for this reason. I know that Longchamp is strongly targeting Asia, so maybe (it is really sad) they do not care about Europe anymore. And they aim to become a luxury brand , young people are their target because young wants luxury, so that's their equation at the moment. But on the long term, i want to see the consequences of such a strategy!! I know for sure (i will do a video about it) that today my way of buying at Longchamp is slightly going to change because of the price. Before i used to buy Pliage bags like i was buying bread, and collect a bunch of colors, now i look at pliage on sales only! and i select the colors because it goes too high. The Epure XL tote looks so fun, but I feel like it's designed to look good in influencer photos more than to be a tote bag to take to work or to hop on the Metro with the kids to take them to the zoo.

I don't think the pouch is ugly as much as it is overpriced and impractical. It's a flat pouch with a narrow opening. Nothing except a flat phone and card holder will fit inside. And even then, the rounded bottom is wasted space.
