I make another suggestion in case it may fit the criteria. I believe this one is more attainable: Compassion and Emptiness in Early Buddhist Meditation by Anālayo (E.g., emptiness meditation on p.162) It's commentary vs. root text but maybe appeals as well. ❤

The beauty of this discourse is to be experienced. I got into a state of being fully awake and listening but it was still a struggle to wake up and activate the body at the end of it.

Dear Yayasara. Is the great seal Mahamudra that he is speaking about? Something that keeps coming up for me is that there is experientially never anything more than the infinite immediacy of awareness and spaciousness and the vast expanse of non identifiable awareness It seems to me that it is our ideas and concepts that give rise to the illusion. Then our minds reify our ideas and construct a sort of alternate reality to suffer in when in fact those states can exist only as a thought. It always comes back to awareness. It just feels like everything he explains comes back to awareness Maybe I don't understand everything

Hi Karine, in terms of the practical application of what Longchenpa is talking about it certainly has direct parallels to the principles of Mahamudra - "the realization of the natural state as awareness-emptiness, absolutely clear and transparent, without root". I'm not entirely sure though if Longchenpa was directly referencing the concept though. Doesn't really matter as the application is the same. Yes, our ideas and concepts are the central player in perpetuating the illusion and the continuation of samsara, so the call is to rest in the Awareness and to allow the continuing reification process to come to a natural halt. By the way, I thought you had another good question on the Padmasambhava video that I was going to respond to but I can't find it now? Perhaps you answered your own question in the end. Hope you are keeping well 😀

@@SamaneriJayasara Thank you for your answer Jayasara! That question was on the Jean Klein video. It was on abusive relationships. But I have many questions 😁 I started questioning everything from an early age and haven't stopped so sometimes I feel that maybe I ask too many questions. I also have a question on Ramana maharshi and cancer. Healing in general. Bodhidharma also.
