Dude it takes more than 1 hour to do all of that in NV. Lol 😂. Even if you skip character customization. Plus for F4: saved the Minutemen, helped them at sanctuary, helping out the first settlement and customizing it(if you’re into the Minecraft builder), Helped Danse at Arc Jet, completed the quest that involves finding the missing BOS team, and then go to Diamond city. You left out a lot of info man.

The discussion is about Classic Fallout vs Bethesda's Fallout, it really depends on your taste. Classic Fallout is roleplay and worldbuilding first gameplay second, so yes a slideshow showing all your achievements and consequences is peak gamming for this taste. Bethesda's Fallout is gameplay and spectacle first, roleplay and worldbuilding second, so having a short and simple ending for you to go back to looting and shooting is best. The near mythical status of NV is because it is the last game in Fallout that has the Classic focus. Let's be real, it is unlikely that Bethesda will ever make another Fallout in the veins of Classic.

Ha! Nice one. F4 is my second favorite in the franchise, but I really do prefer the classic slideshow of the other Fallout games. Showing the long-term effects of our choices & the peaceful music is a bonus. On the upside, F4 does show the short term of our choices(example: if you go with the Minutemen peeace, ending all factions patrol the commonwealth. if you turn on the evacuation order for the institute, some scientists will be able to stay in your settlement, etc). Plus hearing the Sole Survivor talking about realizing that this apocalypse is his new home is a pretty good epilogue speech(The voice actor does a great job).

@@BLK_MN I highly disagree. Adding a voiced protagonist to the story was a cool idea. It made conversations feel a bit more alive. Overtime the whole silent protagonist gets a bit dull, especially in emotional conversations. The only problem was the dialogue Mass Effect wheel. It limited options and you couldn’t see the full sentence. As for the main story, it is a good story. A Captain America character(or She Hulk. The original not the awful TV show), being thrown into a apocalypse with a Bladerunner/Terminator theme is extremely entertaining.

@@Steel-101 I see your point about the silent protagonist and how it can get dull, but on the other hand having a voiced protagonist makes it harder to roleplay the character the player is trying to play as. Bringing it to Mass Effect as an example again, the player has the option for evil or good a lot of the time but due to the voicing it isn't the players character being evil or good, its commander Shepard plays as an evil or good character. It also introduces two more problems: 1- it limits mod support by creating disparity between voiced and non-voiced lines. 2- it limits the scope of available lines in the game, to whatever is achievable by the voice actors time/effort/abilities.

@@julianlowrise4981 Again I disagree. A voiced character doesn’t destroy role play. Nate sounds nothing Ike me and I still have fun with role playing as a veteran. Also I have played Mass Effect for over a decade and not once did I ever hear people say in person: “Shepard’s actor destroys my role play experience”. All of a sudden F4 wanted to try it out and now it’s: “oh it’s the worst idea ever!”. I mean make up your mind people! Adding to my point, the Soldier/Lawyer family background doesn’t destroy role play. Dragon Age 1 had a family background more detailed and it’s still considered to be a legendary intro. Fallout 2 the Chosen One has another family background and again, no problems. Revan & the Exile from KOTOR, heavily detailed backgrounds(again no complaints). Bethesda tries it out for F3 & F4: “Oh they don’t understand protagonists!” See what I mean? Plus besides the career & family deal for the Sole Survivor, we don’t know anything else. Bethesda was going to add more background but they cut it. So in other words there is plenty of room to role play.

Fallout 4 is a Game where a role was MADE for you and you kinda fit to IT. Fallout 4 has 2 pre-written characters from the start. The only thing you know about Courier 6 for sure is they were hired to run the platinum chip and they also made some delivers to the Divide, other than that Courier 6 is who ever YOU want them to be. Do not get me wrong. Fallout 4 is a great game for what it is, but it is not an "RPG" Its more of an Action Adventure game with some replay value.

I only get that way with Mr. House. I'm such a diehard 'The House always Wins' guy, but once I'm asked to *kill* every single member of the Mojave BoS chapter, I always pause, then usually go with Yes Man. I even agree with almost everything that Mr. House says about the BoS, but killing them all? That's just unnecessary.
