After 1500+ hours in the game, all in survival mode, Strong is the only companion character I've never gotten full affinity with because he hates every time I get into power armour and I need that armour to survive. In all my play throughs, I usually just leave him in Hangman's Alley picking mutfruit and keeping out of everyone's way.

And the mod that changes the brahmin with Eyebots Brahmin_to_Eyebots_All
@diddydonk5255
@diddydonk5255 13 күн бұрын
Honestly, I think there should be a mod that nerfs allowing essential NPCs to be used as traders/provisions and instead, add a risk reward system where they can travel to and from the 2 locations they are to travel to, sending resources both ways but the risk comes from any random encounters and Ur provisions possibly getting killed off while travelling. If they end up dying, any resources Uve told the provisions to specifically send to another settlement is lost and despawns to make the illusion that the resources were stolen by an unknown group of attackers. Every time you use provisioners to send resources to each settlement location, there's a possible risk of that loot being stolen and those NPCs dying in combat. If the resources had made it to the settlement, those resources will now be in the workshop ready to use at that specific settlement.
@UnkieNic

Loved the video, you've got a good sense of humor and storytelling Here's one I find particularly useful If you want to get a settlement prefab or piece of furniture into a right spot without the use of mods to clip it into something, use a doormat. Put the item you want to move on top of a doormat and then pick up the doormat. Moves the furniture with it and doesn't activate collision limitation for the most part I used this trick to get the 10k nukacade tickets by clipping like 5-7 basket ball arcade machines into one another and ramming a basket ball up and down the hoop for half an hour

For survival I use the robot workbench to make provisioners by building Mr.Handmen with dual gatling laser arms and full tesla armor, then have them all branch out from my main base to supply all the settlements, they do a fantastic job of cleaning up any enemies in route and once you get a few settlement lines going there's almost always one on any given major route so the roads eventually become surprisingly safe to travel.... as long as you don't mind walking on allot of ash piles. I eventually started enabling their personality subroutines because the only thing more funny then a provisioner robot smoking a roaming group of super mutants is hearing the robot trash talk them while doing it.

@@rickmccl71 "carrying" loot is always a fun trick 🤣 The pushing cars thing is something real settlement heads so to decorate their settlements! I've never tried to send a companion off as a provisioner but it doesn't surprise me that you can. I use the Automatron DLC and so personally I use robots built through that as provisioners between settlements. As you can have them as your companions as well it works much the same way as using Strong or whoever I won't build a Robot Workbench at every settlement but just places like Abernathy Farm, Starlight Drive-in, Finch Farm, a couple others, build multiple robots at each Workbench and use that location as a hub to send them off to different places. I often find them walking (or floating) along the roads of the Commonwealth and occasionally come across a firefight only to find one of my robots mercilessly gunning down some foolish Raiders with their gattling lasers or slicing them up with their Shishkebabs. Always fun!

There are a few companions that just belong in their home locations. I feel guilty I don't send Piper home to Nat whenever I done using her. Likewise, Goodneighbour needs its mayor and Preston really belongs with the Minutemen at the Castle. Nick also needs to keep his detective office open in DC. Also, I'm not sure what would happen if Danse ran into some Brotherhood along his supply route. As a result, I usually don't assign my companions to settlements when I dismiss them, but allow them to go back to their default locations. I do makes exceptions for Dogmeat (who I assign to Sanctuary) and Curie (since she really doesn't like going back to Vault 81). Strong is one who I might try making a provisioner in my next playthrough since he's usually unhappy in any settlement and always looks rather forlorn just standing by himself in front of Trinity Tower. You can just shoot weapons or use vats to precise hit them and the same disarm effect happens with an even higher rate. Used to shoot the weapons out of enemies hands in New Vegas with the cowboy repeater. That gun was so accurate you did not really need anything else. I would snipe the fire ants outside Helios when they were tiny specks on the horizon just to practice with it. It does fall off later on when enemies get really strong and then it is best to swap to a incinerator and use it like a mortar from long distances while sneaking. These two weapons will carry you pretty far while you make your build. Even though the incinerator does low damage it can take out anything with its damage over time. Highly effective for safely taking out cazador nests and deathclaws just do not forget to sneak and also change positions after your volley because for some reason the incinerator will always draw enemies to your exact last location then they return to their original once they do not find you.

Yup, knew about all of those, still very interesting though. Wearing disarming armour might be a better alternative to shooting the arm off friendly legendary synths to get their legendary weapons without turning them hostile or accruing another murder on my crime lists... also will probably work on other allies too. Recently I've been carrying spare weapons and ammunition to drop at the feet of the wandering merchants and their mercenaries. Seeing Cricket using a mini gun instead of a rubbish pipe gun seems far more fitting for one of the best weapon merchants in the game...

@Vandal_Savage
@Vandal_Savage 13 күн бұрын
@UnkieNic too right she should! Ooh, the intimidation perk again - I suspect that it's far more successful than dropping weapons & ammo around and hoping npcs will pick them up... I was thinking about you mentioning setting companions as provisioners earlier as I dismissed one of mine back to a settlement and watched them walk off. My thought was that if I was in (e.g.) sanctuary and recruited and then quickly dismissed each companion back to the same settlement (e.g.) the Warwick farm, spectacle Island or the Somerville place - could I then follow them across the map and would they stay roughly together? And would their guns have infinite ammo? (Being that they would be normal settlers now) 🤔

I did know about companions being provisioners. It helps with starting a new settlement if you don't have the resources for the beacon and a generator. 1st one, I had no clue, 2nd one, ik of it to some degree but it's not something widely beneficial to be something I'd personally start using and the 3rd I did already know about. Going back to the provisions one however, I do feel like there should be a provisions plus mod where it doesn't add too much to the vanilla experience but all it really does is allow traders and caravan traders, U send out through provisions, be able to actively walk to and from 2 locations, without you needing to be close to them constantly, be able to actually have them send supplies, to and from each location and exclude any essential NPCs from being used as a provision so they don't just revive and heal themselves and never die from combat. I feel like it should be a utilised tactic of risk when trying to grow settlements and expand for trade. U risk the people you send out along side any resources lost while going to and from that location and it's a way to combat high risk areas that weren't cleared out as well as tough enemy's that spawn in specific areas of the map that could easily disrupt trade. Not only would it present risk but also a challenge for players to overcome if they want to grow their settlements without using yet another form of exploit to easily transfer resources to each settlement and skip on settlement progression.

Did you know that Vault 88 is the best place to store everything forever, and you'll never get robbed as long as you don't remove the University Point barrier, and the grate/ladder barrier? No one ever comes in from the front entrance. Only the back entrances; and if they're always blocked, no one ever attacks. Also, one can only build enough water supply that equals up to 850 purified water per day. I've only seen this at Vault 88; I haven't tried it anywhere else. Also, in concern to Vault 88: if you build outside the Atrium, where NPC's living there can't roam; they actually, technically, do go in those sections (not where you'll ever see them yourself) if you assign them to something in those sections. My current game I have been playing for almost 3 years. I spend most of the time at Vault 88. Me, and Buddy are the only residents. I've turned it into the biggest storage facility probably ever built in the game. I didn’t build with Vault-Tec material; just regular normal building supplies, no mods/cheats. Looks grungy. I'm playing a 0 main game quest playthrough. I took Vault 88 at level 1; ran all the way there, died several times before finally taking it. Which reminds me: did you know you can go to Diamond City Marketplace without activating the stadium (activating stadium is main game related) by going through the front gate, going to the elevator in security, then going up to the mayor's office then down the lift on the otherside, and walk over to the marketplace, and the marketplace activates but the stadium does not. Also Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and Automatron are not counted as main game related. I haven't been to Sanctuary, Red Rocket, Concord, Cambridge - speaking of Cambridge: if you kill the ghouls attacking Danse, even if you're nowhere near the Police Station, it will complete the quest, which is main game related. Pissed me off to no end; wasn’t even near the police station: I was level 214, with over 1,500 hrs into that game and I had to start all over again 'cause I have OCD, and I delete all my saves but the last two 'cause OCD sucks ass! There's actually a lot of main quest areas that even venturing into some areas without actually playing the main game will complete a main game quest. Going to Sanctuary is not main game related. Doing certain things there is. If Preston just speaks to you in Concord: main game quest complete. As an aside: Do not create a 10-story Greenhouse and then fill it up with crops from top to bottom and have robots (hundreds of them) tend to them. They will drive you insane. I also did that with no mods or cheats. I have a borig life.

Here's a couple additional things about the bulletproof items thing, they can block explosions entirely. I learned this from the saving Kent mission for the Silver Shroud quests. It bugged out to where Sinjin(the main bad guy) was just sitting there aiming a gun a kent, and any damage done to Sinjin makes him instantly shoot him, instantly killing him. I was doing a throwables only run, so after quite a few attempts trying to get a grenade to kill only Sinjin, I decided to put some crates in front of Kent, and lo and behold, the blast only affected Sinjin. Also, reverse pickpocketed grenades do NOT get blocked by walls or objects like thrown ones will, strangely enough.

1. I knew but i def gotta admit, its a good hidden gem 2. I actually thought it was common knowledge but not prefered? Better secret is if you put all your followers in the mechanist lair, accept a mechanist mission, everyone (including strong ect) will like it, have no followers, finish the mission, then ask everyone to join you, then leave the last one back at the mechanist, and loop it, and youll get the follower perks for everyone eventually (asking them to follow you adds more affinity for some reason when you gain exp without them following you when you do it) 3. I really didn't actually know that hahaha

I probably thought about trying companions as provisioners but didn't try it because I never wanted to lose track of them without thinking about their usefulness as such. I think it sends all companions back to their default/original home. And I could be wrong, but I think it only works until you send them to a settlement. For example, if you send Piper to Sanctuary after you get her, hitting cancel will send her back to Sanctuary every time after that first time.
