People saying it is an easy sport probably play it in the backyard with their family. Or maybe not. Anyone who plays at least a little bit competitively or seriously, as in, follow the rules and laws, playing in an indoor badminton court with a proper good racket and good shuttle will know that it is a tough sport. Especially when you play with someone equally as good or better than you.

i play now for a year and train and play about 10 to 12 hours a week. i am 31, always slim and was not used to any sport continously before. in the last months my body pretty much changed, far more duration, muscles, fitness overall. this sport is, if you practice seriously, a beast, because you need an enourmus fitness to accomplish the technic on the court. you need muscels for the stop and go and fast speed but still need to hit the shuttle every 6-8 seconds in an easy way... i love it ;)

It's not "just" clears and drops. They are actually quality shots. And although neither side was risking to really attack and add up the pace, it was a good long rally nevertheless. Most of us would probably lose or die of suffocation within the first 5 hits in rallies like these (at the kind of speed, control and endurance), let alone 104 shots. As easy it may seem on screen, you can't really comprehend or understand how hard it is unless you go on that court. See if you can even last 2 hits first before saying it's easy.

Annoying 5 Year Old Annoying 5 Year Old You clearly dont know how fast a good quality clear shot is . Cardio doesnt mean anything if you dont have the right technique and not fast enough to cover the whole court. These two did not just stand in the back court and wait for a clear shot. A sudden drop shot or a point smash could have happened anytime. In real match you would not last 2 hits . You could watch the semi final where Lindan only needs 3,4 clear shots to force Tien Minh to go for other options and avoid doing clear shot. In badminton , even the top 5 players , like Lindan , LCW has considerably better clear shots than any other competitve players .

Even Watching this long is difficult....how they must have felt...
@scheimong6 жыл бұрын
I understand non-badminton players may find it difficult to comprehend the difficulty involved. So let me make an analogy: Imagine running 300m at 100m speed, and instead of in a straight line you have to reverse direction every 2 seconds. All that after you have just completed a half marathon (21km). That's the level those players are playing at.
@scheimong6 жыл бұрын
The difficulty is not in the shot itself (which is not to say the shots are easy); the difficulty is in running to the shuttle and immediately bouncing back to the center after. In drills people usually do 20~30 of those runs in a set then take a break. This pair did 54 in an actual match.
@louiswouters716 жыл бұрын
lol running 300m at 100m speed is already impossible without the other restrictions.
@itclientservices5 жыл бұрын
@@scheimong that literally makes no sense. No human being can keep up their top pace for longer than around 30 seconds, so how is anyone, other than 2008/9 Bolt, going to do that. On top of that no one can do it while running in different directions. Not to add on that running half a marathon is literally impossible for a sprinter. We get it, badminton can be hard, but there's no way that it even compares to running half a marathon and then sprinting even 100m, let alone 300m while changing directions. Ironically enough, while trying to prove that a sport is more difficult than it looks, you underestimated the difficulty of another sport.

Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. They that believeth and are baptized (with the Holy Spirit) shall be saved; but they that believeth not shall be damned. Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness. *God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.* As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him. Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.

Honestly love playing badminton, it's such a good sport. I just find it sad that some people think this is a bad sport. I've been practicing badminton in school for 2 years now, and it improves our stamina, health and it's very fun to play. About the video though, this is pretty impressive, I imagine the pressure that the crowd gave by all that cheering..

How was that last shot out? Does it have to be inside the lines and not touching them at all to be considered in? thanks.
@arbivator8 жыл бұрын
Touching the line is considered in. The contact is roughly 1:57 and the shuttle appears to be extremely close to the line. The quality of the camera is a bit iffy and the video player can't pause very accurately so I can't verify if it is in or out, but a line judge could have made a calling error very easily with how close the shot is to the line.

It's the round top that counts, not the feathers, but it was very hard to see from that angle.
