LONGEST RIDE on my road bike so far! Watch me struggle on 130 km through Berlin and Brandenburg

This ride took place when it was still warm and (kinda) sunny outside: in September 2020! I was preparing for my bikepacking trip to the Baltic Sea (watch here: bit.ly/332gxOF ) by going on several +100 km rides over 2-3 weeks. And if there's one thing I learned on the way, it is this: I can definitely deal with the unexpected. Which is to be expected when you're on the road all day 😄 ✅

Always carry a spare tube and pump with you always. Lots of water,carbohydrates, rubber gloves to put your chain back on. Never worry about the distance, only the journey on getting there. Try to find a good friend along the ride,it's more enjoyable. I've been cycling for 40 years ,and still loving it.

That's great! I always carry spares, but I'm not very good at fixing flats (yet). Rubber gloves are a good idea. 👍🏻 I actually enjoy long rides on my own and only ride with friends occasionally. Everyone's different, I guess 😊 Ride on!

Tolles Video, symphatische Ausstrahlung! Wenn ich das Video sehe, merke ich wie schlecht die Fahrradwegsituation in meiner Stadt ist, daher führen meine Strecken immer möglichst schnell aus der Stadt raus! Wenn ich mal in Berlin sein sollte, werde ich mir mal ein paar Routentips von Dir geben lassen!

Starke Leistung! Ich hab mich 2020 als ich mein Rennrad neu hatte auch langsam an größere Distanzen rangetastet. Die vielen KM klingen aber ja meistens schlimmer als sie sind, man rollt ja so leicht dahin auf Renn- und Gravelrädern.. Ich kann Dir die Bodenseeumrundung (200km) auf jeden Fall ans Herz legen vllt. als eine der nächsten Herausforderungen, da hab ich mich im August 2020 drangewagt 🚲🚲🚲

I use to do bike tour for years, there's a trick to miles, switch for high rpm on hill to high gear low rpm on flats and hill, not stressing knees, just a very low rpm push, just the power needed to keep forward motion,

Germany is definitely great for cycling. I wish I lived in the south, though, closer to Italy and Switzerland 😻 But I would need to train climbing hills a lot. The area around Berlin is pretty flat, so not much practice 😬 I'm sure Wales is worth a visit, too, though! Happy riding 💪🏻

Die Kette ist abgesprungen und hat sich dann leicht verklemmt. Lieber stehe ich vor solchen Herausforderungen als der, als erwachsener Mensch erst mal lernen zu müssen, was den meisten schon im Kindergarten beigebracht wird: Dass man sich nicht über andere lustig macht.

Vom Grunewald nach Schönefeld gibt es so schöne Strecken, aber Google Maps zeigt die leider nicht. Wenn man da zu Fahrrad wechselt führt das einen teilweise auf komplett verrückte Wege. Aber hey, du hast es geschafft. Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Nur etwas mehr Enthusiasmus, wenn du neue Strecken fährst, wäre gut 😜

Das ist zum Glück mittlerweile so - seitdem ich mir ein neues Wahoo und Komoot zugelegt habe, genieße ich neue Strecken auch tatsächlich 😄
