Buc-ees is blind in one eye and has a spinal injury from his previous life as a cutting horse. We don’t ride him for both reasons but he does love to still be involved with herding cattle. And I didn’t want to add the extra weight to Dixie when I was just using her to drive Tex. I already feel like I’m too big for her as it is, and our lightest saddle is close to 40 lbs.

As I woke from anesthesia yesterday, all I wanted to hear about was did Tex get loaded. The nurses thought I was crazy. I am so happy that the three of you, Maggie, Dixie, and Buckeys got the job done. It really is the best for Tex. Thank you for putting all your babies first in decision making.

OMG my heart was in my mouth a few times during this, but well done to all of you, Jake played a blinder on the 4 wheeler and the speed he had at closing those gates behind Tex was something else, Carl and Debbie were brilliant at protecting the chicks and even seeing Tex off, Buckees and Dixie never even flinched. I bet Jami never thought in her wildest dreams that one day she would become a cowgirl and facing off a Longhorn (WTG Jami) You were all amazing. Me too!! When all I could see were those horns going low and coming at the camera, I put my phone at arms length--like that would keep people from getting hurt 🤣. You 3 did such a great job. And it's the love and respect that Tex has for all-y'all that showed through. I have been waiting patiently for this, such a big day for Tex ! Y'all did wonderfully ! Lester, Jami, Jake, Buckees, Dixie, Maggie, Carl, and Debbie, too ! Like Jami always says ... " It takes a Village" ! Such diverse help, and I could see the concentration in ALL of you ! So well done ! I'm so proud to be one of your extended family, and have been for years. Y'all are blessed with having each other, to help, and support. And, not only the humans, each and every one of you that were in that pasture, knew what needed to be done, and ya'll were so patient with Tex ! He's seen his entire family disappear in the previous days, and he knew something big was going on, so it's understandable he was nervous. When he finally walked into the trailer without further guidiing, I actually stood up in my chair and cheered ! ( and believe me, that's a big thing for me ) I hope that Tex calms down when he sees his family, and finally realizes, he has his own Forever Home, with those he loves ! I saw how upset he was when y'all loaded Santoro (Ripp). So you know he was thinking about what was going on. I heard him protesting, along that fence. Now is the time, for healing with his family. Bless y'all, for how you treat your animals, with love and respect. I have always said that Love is the most important thing in this life, and there sadly, is such a huge need for it in this world now. When Tex went into the trailer, I was hoopin’ and hollerin’ and clapping!!! This was so intense, exciting, breath holding and just totally awesome. You all did an amazing job! Nobody got hurt. You basically wore Tex out which was a far better approach then if unknowns would have done this. Tex was used to the four wheeler, so that was a plus. The horses, ostriches and Maggie played a big part in this as well. Great job Lester, Jami and Jake!!!!😁💞

I let out a yell too. It literally took humans, a dog. 2 horses & a pair of ostriches to get this done safely. It was amazing to watch. Maggie especially deserves a new rubber chicken toy for this & Jake deserves a nice treat for shutting those gates so fast.

Absolutely fantastic job everyone! Maggie is one hell of a herding boxer! I felt the excitement when he just gave up and walked into the trailer in the end.
