Thanks , this was really interesting for me. It’s the area of watches I’ve been following a bit lately and I’d narrowed it down, I think, to the Oris Baikal and the Ollech and Wajs C 1000s, which are all in the same sort of ball park with regards cost. . I have a Longines already , one if the master collection models, which is beautiful and was a gift, but a very different sort of watch. This has thrown a spanner in the works again, as it’s a great looking piece .

I really want to like this watch. The specs are great, . I like the 6,9, 12 numerals( ala orient mako). the size is perfect and I like the strap options. the style is just a little too much Breitling/Invicta for my taste. It's more blingy than tool.

Im curious what makes the big brands like Longines put that stupid date on 3 o clock and brake the beautifull aesthetics of the watches. Everybody have phone to see their date and time preciselly. I have the 43mm Black ceramic version, lovely looking but bracelet needs half link as adjustment is poor and that clasp is rubbish. It rips the hell out of your finger nail just trying to get it open. I'm afraid the Aquis has it hands down on the bracelet and clasp.

I love this watch. Unfortunately I think im one of the people that this won't fit. My worst is about 6inch (a little more) and the lugs of this watch (Longines un general) are pretty long. I haven't tried it yet, but it doesn't seem like it will fit.

I think they have different sizes. At least I have the pre version and I think it has 3-4 different case size options. For me 41 mm works very well and 43mm version are way too much

Nice watch but I prefer my Rado Captain Cook. But I do prefer the green rubber strap on this diver, for some reason my Bronze Captain Cook comes with a green leather strap ridiculous for a Diver of equal depth rating.

It's rubber actually. Pretty stiff. I have the strap on another Longines. I have allergy to rubber so I get a rash on my wrist from it. At this price they could make it silicone.

Having done more research I found out that this watch has a specially developed caliber, or movement with a 64 hour power reserve. That’s great but will it have to be serviced by Longines and will they charge a premium / extra for it versus a regular eta movement? Any independent watchmaker can service an eta or a Sellita movement but if this is a “ special “ movement for this watch they may be the only ones with the spare parts and the know how to service it, resulting in a monopoly on service. There is a lot of money in servicing watches, and by guaranteeing a monopoly on service, well you get the idea....Hopefully it’s not the case. Also on the rubber straps they should have gone pin and buckle, this type of deployment / push- release is not my favourite. It’s hard to get a snug fit , the watch tends to flop down, and you have to keep readjusting it . It’s kinda like wearing a loose bracelet. I would buy it on a stainless steel bracelet, and then source my own rubber strap with pin and buckle or NATO strap.

Lower beat rate means longer service intervals in theory. If you’re worried about servicing costs then get a watch with a standard movement like a Sellita SW200. A good quality movement that is looked after well could go about 10 years these days before servicing.

jason starek There is no black bezel version . You can tell by looking at the video and doing some basic research online . He also describes the colour of the bezel in the video, you obviously were not paying attention....The green dial,, green bezel is the best version, the most original. Buy it on the stainless steel bracelet , the best value and then you can source your own rubber strap or NATO strap. Alternatively there is a black dial , black bezel version ( boring) and a blue dial , blue bezel version , not bad but blue is too intense, and a bit gaudy. The green dial, green bezel version is the best one in my opinion.

Black Dial black bezel, grey dial grey bezel, blue dial blue bezel, in those colours the dials are Sunray. Then the green dial , green bezel, the dial is Matt green. All bezels ceramic. Those are the color choices.

Seiko makes very decent movements. But the movement and build of a standard $200-500 Seiko 5 or SKX isn’t the same as an ETA and build of a Longines. Grand Seiko? yes...much better, actually.

I bought this watch in February. Currently it is running 2 mins per month too fast and date skips a day ahead. Crown guards' edges are so sharp that I almost cut my fingers every time I wind it. Very disappointing for a swiss watch. My suggestion - stay away from it.

2 minutes a month is 4 seconds per day. That's outstanding accuracy. I don't like the crown or crown guards either but the style of this watch is interesting. You should keep it. Maybe it will grow on you.

You don’t understand anything , the previous dial was way too cluttered for a dive watch, that’s why they uncluttered it. This also comes in a black dial,and a blue dial if green is not your colour, but once again you don’t understand ,as this is the best version and most original. Go and buy the previous version, or maybe a Hello Kitty watch is more suitable for yourself.
