I’ve had this watch for 10 years and I love it. Not that I wear it for compliments but it does get a few. I’ve worn it every day for that 10 years, it’s been camping in Africa, trekked the Inca trail, been to multiple festivals and it has stood up really well to that use, the case is pretty much pristine. The strap was the only week part, didn’t hold up to being worn 24/7 and only lasted 6 months, the Longines ones are obscenely expensive so I have it on a much cheaper croc strap which holds up much better to being worn 24/7.

Nice review, thanks a lot! The small dials and date cutout overlapping the numbers seem to be a big turnoff for some people but that'S the thing I love about this watch. Different strokes for different folks I guess. This timepiece is probably next on my list. I love smaller sized chronographs. Well done, Longines!

I've seen a nice used one and I think I will buy it, you get the Longines name and a chrono that most people won't use that much so less likely to fail. It just looks great. I'm not a great fan of the dial guilloche in the white but on the silver it looks much better. Used Longines watches are a good price at the moment for the collector.

Fantastic review, Sir. I have been eying this chronograph for a while now. I expect to finalise a long and important personal project of mine towards the end of this year. I would like to celebrate my success with a watch that reminds me of it on a daily basis. I hope I will find one I will love and enjoy until I go to meet my maker. I have subscribed to your channel a while ago and enjoy your watch reviews quite a bit. In my opinion they are amongst the very best out there, compact yet complete, critical, passionate, with superb footage. So when your review of „my“ chronograph candidate appeared, it was a more than pleasant surprise. I actually tried the watch on at the local dealer today. Even in the flesh, I love everything about the way it looks, particularly what you quite pertinently called old-world-look. It is just a beauty. I do however not like the 21mm lug width. Also, I am really unsure though whether the 2894 is compatible with my long term perspective on this intended watch purchase. I will have to do some more research... Thank you for your very helpful and enjoyable review and keep up the good work!

I LOVE this watch. I agree about the date. It's done neatly but I will never understand the obsession with the need to have a date on watches. In my opinion it spoils watches. I think watchmakers should provide an alternative one also without.

This is what you buy when you can't afford an A. Lange & Sohne Chronograph. Although I did opt for the 688.2 tri complex colunn wheel master chrono.

In other words, the chrono module IS IN HOUSE and is as serviceable as ANY OTHER IN HOUSE MOVEMENT IN THE WORLD.

Well it's not IN-HOUSE as it's not made by Longines, but by Dubois Depraz that is a movement manufacturer like ETA

Stop living in the past or buy a 50-year old Longines if you really want one. Now, things are different and Logniens still gets recognised as a top-5 brand when it comes to quality for price. Can't see what's so wrong about it.
