Hi Steve! Sorry for the delay in writing this comment, I did see your video of the painted dogs at Longleat when you first premiered it. I'm so glad you were able to visit them, as I know you were looking forward to it. They are beautiful, and that pure white fur on their tails is quite a contrast from the other colors on them. They make decisions and communicate by sneezing? How interesting! It's a good thing the camel in your car wasn't communicating with you the same way, as he (she?) was right in your face! You would have gotten a faceful of ...... something. The painted dogs look so comfortable lying in the grass together. Great close-ups, and I love your narrative ... very educational and interesting. I also saw last week your video on the Amazement place. I never saw anything like that before! Very unique, and I like things that stretch my imagination and make me think "outside the box". It's also nice and relaxing in there. The solar eclipse wasn't noticeable up here in Olympia, Washington where I live, but it did pass over the Dallas Zoo where you were, and a lot of the animals, like the elephants, the gorillas (probably the same ones you saw) and other animals thought it was time to go inside and go to sleep, so the footage on the news showed them all grouping together and heading into their buildings where they sleep at night. I wonder if they were confused when, four minutes and 17 seconds later, it got light again. If I were one of the gorillas, I would be saying, "Hang on ..... didn't we just go to bed four minutes ago?!?" It's funny to imagine what they thought. I'm having a bit of nostalgia today. One year ago this very second, I was in my room at the Sofitel Hotel at Heathrow, it was 5:00 in the morning UK time, and I had just arrived the day before. It was the start of another wonderful time in the UK, like I always have whenever I am there. A bit sad today, as I wish I were still there ..... or there again. Happy travelling! Gwen

Hi Gwen so pleased you got to see the video of the painted dogs. They are great and I can’t wait to follow their adventures. You’re absolutely right that would’ve been a catastrophe to have the camel trying to communicate to me by sneezing. There was enough saliva as it was, thank you for your kind comments. The wake the tiger was a strange concept and I didn’t know what to expect but I’m so glad I went. It brings back memories for me for you to mention the gorillas in Dallas. I remember at 5 pm all the animals waited near the gates to go back inside so no wonder they wanted to go in during the eclipse 😂 Hope you manage to make it back to England one day, thanks again for following my travels! Steve
