@@DanMurrellMovies Hey Dan, I know your a bit of a fan of both Star Wars and Star Trek and I thought of a video idea I wanted to recommend you. I’m a Star Wars fan and I hear a lot about the series even when I’m not trying too, but I can’t say the same about Star Trek and that caused me to wonder how different the fandoms of the classic sci-fi series are. Like how the newer fans are in comparison to the older fans, how older projects are looked upon differently by the fanbase then how they were received initially on release, how the cast and crew relationships with these franchises compare to each other, or how the recent shows and movies put out by the franchises are received by fans.

This is an anecdote but, for the past 3 weeks when I’ve looked, Twister has been in the top 10 movies on Max and the Apple charts. I agree with Dan that there’s enough excitement about Twisters for it to be a big hit edit: just checked and it’s also #2 in the google store

Totally anecdotal, but here in my country the movie opened this weekend and my screening was packed, and the audience seemed to enjoy the movie. In fact you could hear some applauses as the movie ended. Maybe it bodes well for audience reception in NA? I don't know, take my anecdote as you will.

While movies and TV are a great way to escape, they should also reflect the mood of the times they are made in. Pretty apropos of the dire and bleak situation of US and world politics right now.

Stateside it's impossible for Despicable Me 4 to make more money than Inside Out 2: at the end of its second weekend, Despicable Me 4 is at 211M in the US, Inside Out 2 on the other hand had already made 356M at the same point of its release. At this pace, Inside Out 2 could pass Frozen 2 worldwide and may reach 1.5B, while I think that Despicable Me 4 will close under 1B worldwide (not much under, but not a full billion).

Interesting thought: with that drive-in story about about Fall Guy, I wonder if you can do a chart for the "unique exhibition" box office, if such data are available. E.g. drive-ins, open air theaters, second-run theaters etc. (maybe also PLF screens although that might not be in the same spirit). Would that be feasible? Could be slotted next to your limited-run box office chart, would belong in that segment.

I don't mind if the sections of Charts gets broken up into separate videos. Maybe that's not great for algorithms, but I don't mind if Streaming is its own charts, even if it's just a short video like if you just cut the Streaming off of this episode. I'd also love if Coming Soon was its own weekly video. I know there's no way to cover everything from theatrical to streaming to (I'd love this) physical media releases, but even just an overview would be great for me. This has been: my two cents.

Glad you mentioned the most likely budgeting model for Apple movies as just watched Fly Me To The Moon and theres no way this is a >$100m movie, i now assume the cost is down to the stars wages whereas i had assumed it was some kind of 'creative accounting' to inflate cost 'for tax purposes'

I always watch this show when it is published, but I was (and am) ill, so watching it late. Hopefully you'll still see this. I would like to suggest a change to the way you show some of the long term top 10s. Currently, if a film is closed, you have a little asterisk at the end of the name. I think you should make this more prominent. Maybe a padlock symbol, or the box being slightly grey? Just so it can instantly be seen which films are still live

For the non-eagle-eyed viewers, aside from being Longlegs, Nicolas Cage also played all the other characters. He was so good, they even changed his name multiple times in the credits.

Horizon is flopping, BUT it is in the top 3 highest grossing films of all time to share a title with a McCoy Tyner album (after Inception and Sahara).

What could possibly be different between The Sound of Hope and Sound of Freedom that last year's demographic isn't turning out in record numbers again? 🤔🤔🤔

Heck yeah...a show with far far more viewership than The acolyte...and instead we have the latter being reviewed...it makes no sense.
