Would you ever add Variety's top 10 charts to future viewing charts? First heard about them from Grace Randolph, but she ditched them since Variety only covers original streaming content, but would be good for current shows and movies instead of waiting for Neilsen.

At first i did not know what to think like another end of the world crap show, but the longer I watch more I enjoyed its wacko way shows how crazy a government can be. They had a weird concept of sex l!! LETS JUST HAVE SEX sluts LOL!

Dan the reason you're worth watching is precisely because you quality control and explain your stats - right down to how you abbreviate the numbers. That plus your history of accountability means we know you are trustworthy. That's gold dust in our modern capitalistic world. Precisely because genuine trustworthiness has zero to do with profitability. For that exact reason I hope this channel grows and grows. Because we need more channels, commentators, content and businesses like yours!

Totally support the shift to Mondays, I think we are more conducive to weekend box office stuff on Monday more so than on Tuesday. By Tuesday, the thunder has kinda passed (though I watched your show on Tuesday anyway!) So, good choice IMO

This movie only reinforced my dislike of Seinfeld. It felt like he was trying to be Mel Brooks, but ended up being like Friedberg and Seltzer

20 mins should have been cut. If the film was tighter it would have been better. Entertaining though. Reminded me of Codename: The Cleaner.

Love the episode as always, Dan! Just wanted to check in to see if, on the Road to Recovery chart, those numbers are adjusted for inflation? 2015 numbers would definitely be a lot more in today's dollars, and the reality of the industry could be even worse than it looks

Thoughts on the streaming data that KZbin surpasses all but Disney by viewership? (WSJ article)
@DanMurrellMovies
@DanMurrellMovies Күн бұрын
I get the concept behind it, but I think it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges. You're comparing some streamers that also have legacy cable and broadcast channels to some companies like Netflix that have just one platform to things like KZbin, which operates on a different platform and arguably provides a different service. It's very interesting to see what people are watching, but I wouldn't use those numbers as a comparative tool between companies.

My vote is keep the Mondays. It's my new favorite thing about Mondays. I'm glad people like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I didn't like it that much and I predicted it wouldn't do that well. I don't think it will be a big summer hit overall. But I'm sure it will do well considering the competition so far. We'll see how well if does with the other May movies coming out.

@DanMurrellMovies
@DanMurrellMovies Күн бұрын
There was - it was an unfinished version of the movie that was one of the first major pre-release leaks that I can remember. I don't think it spread wide enough to affect mainstream interest, but it did bleed into the online movie community talk in a negative way.

Thanks for the vid! When it comes to the show charts. Would it be interesting to see a graph to see the movement of the shows (instead of a serie of weekly charts) and maybe one chart for the month? It could be more diverse visually and we could see the picture from different angles.

I don't get all the hate. Unfrosted is a silly Netflix movie with some expected dumb humor and a few good bits thrown in. It was mindless entertainment that I enjoyed. It was certainly no less silly or mindlessly entertaining than Barbie, which for some unknown reason has been elevated to some shining example of tour de force, avant garde film making.
@DanMurrellMovies

I didn't love Barbie as much as a lot of people did, but I definitely wouldn't call it mindlessly entertaining. It was dealing with some pretty heavy stuff while also being silly.

The Barbie movie definitely have more meaning and impact of this "Unfrosted" garbage. The entire "movie" isn't even a movie, it's just a walking billboard for Kelloggs and their products where every actor in the movie just utter lines related to commercial products and practically praising Kelloggs and Pop-Tarts which are nothing more than absolutely garbage junk food choked full of sugar, artificial flavorings and colourings.

I had thought previously that the not rounding up thing bothered me but then I realised it wouldn’t make any sense to round up. If you said Challengers made 4.7m then that’s plainly untrue, because it isn’t that high, and is more misleading that just saying 4.6m.

I'm overjoyed to hear this as I love this franchise and hope it continues, at least for one more trilogy taking us to 6 films (though I know there's plans for 9 total), It's funny though as these movies seem to do well but I feel like I know barely anyone that's watched them. Their loss!

Moving to Monday has another great benefit. We'll be able to tell how accurate the estimates are. If you have to make three corrections a year, that tells us that the industry basically knows what they're doing with those estimates. I find that potentially fascinating.

Thank you. 1. The new Ape movie seems like the money grab similar to The Amazing Spiderman with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Both were released too close to the final film of the previous triology. And neither seem to have any other purpose.
