I really thought they would be huge. The Sun is Often Out is a perfect record, IMO, easily one of the best albums of the 90's.

For real, they fell off a bit on the follow up though.

Tragically underrated band. They were sublime.

It is such a tragedy this band does not exist anymore. They had such great songs. both albums are gems. Like a lovechild between Jeff Buckley and early radiohead...super talent

An amazing disconstuct of social media. Generational crossover that warms my heart. My daughter and I saw them at Sheffield O2 (present) for my 50th . Repeat for my 60th booked then Brian had a throat infection 🫣. Awesome band .

One of the most underrated songs of the 90s that still stands up today. Hats off the lead guitarist, Richard Hawley .

I was here at TFI friday, I loved them. Was only young so unfortunately couldn't get a pass to the bar. Nice to know people still paying interest in them. He signed an autograph for me but i lost it. Damn!!!

Totally agree, on and on is another classic. TFI Friday had some great years during the indie period. Hearing this song reminds me of all the Shine compilations i've got, remember those ?

I was at the recording of this, invited, along with a load of mates, by the band themselves at a gig the previous night at Northampton Roadmender! You can see the back of my bonce at 36 seconds in.

I love the way he fully committed to the vocals. It's so over-stated and the complete opposite of Richard's vocal style.

First heard this song on an early pre-release Radio 1 live session with Steve Lamaque- it was a performance that matched any I've ever heard, as powerful as Nirvana with beautiful dynamics

I loved these years, great indie bands on TFI Friday/Top of the pops. Great compilation albums - Shine. TFI Friday was superb back in the day, ideal viewing for having a few drinks before then going out. Went downhill once Evans got Boyzone/Spice Girls and other crap on the show (He used to slate all these pop groups before). When they had indie bands on every week it was great

It's 'The Press'. They'd have gone with something else catchy or stupid , , like ''Squizzrock' or ''Cuntpop' otherwise. Could have been worse.
