From the very beginning of Sonic the Hedgehog there was this idea of Sonic being a ball in a pinball game. This game went the whole way and put Sonic into an actual pinball game flavored with jump'n run elements. As much as I like this concept, Sega didn't really nail it though. The physics are painfully sluggish and too slow even with the air control that you have. The music and soundeffects are typical cheap electric genesis tunes. The actual Sonic games showed that the Genesis could create waaaay better music.

I got to the very end and then proceeded to not know what to do and died a whole bunch. That's as far as I ever got. The 2nd to last level is a nightmare to traverse, I got lost there so many times. Still, it was fun, and I didn't complain too much.

Same for me. I rented the game, might of been on sega channel and I couldn't figure out when was like 7 years old, what to do other than playing pinball. Was great to see additional levels and how to advance in this great playthrough

@@Chris_Thorndyke 1. The Freedom Fighters appear in the bonus stage. 2. The Machine (the third level) is based off of the idea of robotization. 3. Cluck appears as an Badnik to hit.

I remember i played this game when I was a kid ,My parents bought me a mega drive (Im british) And they gave Sonic 1,2,3&knuckles and of course Sonic Spinball.I was soo happy and I really want to play this game.And I played for 1 or 2 weeks. Finally i came to final boss but the electricity went off and if you didnt save the game it will start from the beginning and all of my efforts go down the drain. But I have mega drive classics game on my PS4 and I can play sonic spinball and I can bring old memories.

Never played this on Sega Genesis before in my life, but I do remember playing this as part of “Sonic Mega Collection” on GameCube my brother used to own back then. Despite this, I haven’t played this in years and music is rather nostalgic, even when we didn’t own a Genesis
