Longplay of Tak: The Great Juju Challenge

The third and final Tak game. Each of them play a bit differently. This one seems to be the least favoured by people and I will explain why.. Tak uses a lot of 2 player puzzling. You can actually play with two controllers but you can also switch between the characters by yourself. The puzzles are rather simple though. The big guy can hold Tak and throw him up on higher places. Each ‘chapter’ consists of three stages which you gotta complete as fast as possible to score high points. You need X amount of points to compete in the challenge that’s held after every 3 stages.. the problem here, which is also the general complaint, is that you need to play each stage twice because during the first run you’re very unlikely gonna score enough points. I never noticed this issue as I’m required to practice each stage beforehand for my recordings anyway. Final boss is a complete bitch, but I got him down in not too many turns fortunately. In my opinion it still beats the first Tak game which is more of an openworld platformer with forced collecting elements in it, which I’m personally not a fan of ever. Second is my favourite. It’s alot like this one without the challenge points and two player puzzling

I have to agree, though I thought it was the least good in my opinion while Tak 2 was the best; while it was fun, I felt the game got stale quickly due to its mechanics. I had more fun exploring in Tak 1, even though I got lost quickly.

I don't see how people think this is the worst i think its the best one. It may get old but after you give it maybe a couple of months you want to come back and play it again. I think its way better playing with 2 players too. Me and my brother beat the game and we grinded to where we get the best car in the bumper cars mode.

I hate the final proving grounds. How did they expect players to beat it with so much crap coming out as it goes on? If THQNordic does remake this game, maybe they could have some common sense and maybe tone down the difficulty and make it fair.

I am surprised to learn many don't like this one as much, but then again I grew up with a younger sibling and we tended to tag-team every single-player game taking turns with the other sitting and watching while the one played, so the fact we could play this one together simultaneously meant that for us this game was the most fun of the 3.

This game just has the best character interactions, namely between Tak and Lock and it makes me the most sad about all the wasted potential of the cartoon show, I was so exited for the TV show... and then it came on and I saw Tak portrayed as lazyabout reluctant to help and often causing the issue himself, and Lok became a blathering incompetent coward... and was just like, no, what, what the hell, why WHHHHHhhhhyyyy

If could between a movie based on the second and third games than a tv show that lacked almost all the elements from the game like character development, a perfect blend of humor and action, and central characters and antagonists. I would definitely go with a movie instead

I might have an explaination about why the tv show didn’t get the same appeal like the video games; ever wonder why it felt like most american cartoons after 2007 stopped having clever writing, storytelling and funny humor? That probably because of the writers strike that happened somewhere in 2008. In that strike, many writers demand an increase to their raise of income, since cartoon writers make less than those who work on live action shows. As a result, many entertainment companies(especially nickelodeon)fired alot of talented writers, and hired either noobies or cheap writers. And since the Tak TV show came out around that strike, you can probably see the possible cause.

This one is definitely the funniest imo. The timing is so on point, and Patrick Warburton is always a win. Tak 1 is my favorite all together, but this and Tak 2 are still very good and very underrated games. The whole trilogy was a big part of my childhood and got each one as a birthday present when they came out.

From 2:18:37 to 2:18:52, I love Lok’s facial expressions, so amazingly well animated! Especially those eyebrows of his, so funny! Great animation, even how his expressions captures Patrick Warburton’s voice perfectly! Lok is such a great character, alongside Tak - they have a very comical relationship together like brothers. Lok may be a pompous and incompetent jock but deep down, he’s really a good guy. Love him!

This game has the best comedic timing out of any of the other games, and definitely the best dialogue. Tak 2 tried this but was bogged down by awkwardness and strange prolonged animation. Honestly Tak 2 was more ironically funny than actually funny.

The nostalgia! ToT Probably the game where me and my sister trolled each other the most. Lifting each other up as Loc so the other couldn't move, used Tak's grapple unnecessarily many times, run over each other with the rhino/mammoth, refused to help to piss the other one off, etc, etc. Ah, good times

I can remember me and my dad going to our local Walmart and him buying for me for being well behaved in school that week, I played this CONSTANTLY back then!! *THATS HOW IT ENDS?!!* Had this game when I was little and recently picked it back up, Damn I hated playing ghastfalls with an npc, some levels give the other teams scores that can’t be matched no matter what you do, And that last proving grounds is so fucking hard, think I’m on try 8 now, double overtime is so tedious. Came here to see if there is an easier strat but it’s like it’s more rigged than it’s supposed to be on ps2. I’m already upset at how Unwinnable the last part is but now seeing I get Jack shit as an ending?! Dunno if I wanna finish it.

While I can see why people didn’t like this game much, and I think it was probably the worst of the tak games, I enjoyed this game as a kid immensely. Discovering this game after playing tak 1 and 2 a billion times was amazing. It gave more interactions with characters and added to the tak lore. It was awesome to see characters from tak 1 interact with characters from tak 2 as well. I was able to play the game by myself without too much difficulty, but having a friend helped. Also more Lok dialogue!!! More than any tak game and solidified him much more as a character in tak.

Personally I like the first game the most because I like open world gameplay while I thought the 2nd game was the least good mainly because 1) You can’t return/replay a previous stage, 2) the Jujus were pointless, 3) the 2nd half of the game was pointless, 4) the ending.
