Just a word of Caution though, The save files of both Gameboy and Gameboy Color versions are NOT interchangeable. If you try to access the Gameboy Color version on a regular Gameboy (or vice-versa), you will have to erase that save file and start over. So if you let a friend borrow yours, don't ever expect your save data back!

Wario 1 - 3 and 4 are what I know Wario as, not the strange thing we saw later in the Micro Games or in Mario Party or Sports titles on GameCube, Wii and Switch.

Reasons why this game is awesome: - Wario is funny. Gotta love how he is so carefree. He roughens up even the hen he rescues, in constrast to Mario who is so thoughtful to his friendly encounters lmao. He is so mean, yet everything is played out in such goofy way, you can't help but like him. - Wario's agenda is anything but heroic and yet it is a somehow compelling concept to collect riches. Mario also does it, but in his games wealth has no story importance. While in WL2, you can invest coins into getting treasures and keep a tab of your cagnotte, arcade score style. - Wario has attacks distinct from Mario, instead focusing on how hilariously brutal he is rather than agile. - In most games, being hit by an enemy or the environment result in loss, but here it's part of a creative puzzle aspect. The game never dissuades the player from trying outlandish things. - Captain Syrup is such an underrated antagonist. I like how she is basically an anti princess peach that Wario feud against, rather than the love interest he is looking to save. - The sheer variety in level design.

Mario and Donkey kong series were the only games, along with some puzzled games and some rpgs, that they worthed their salt for Gameboy. I mean 2-3 hours of fun is the best you could wish from a gameboy game. Most games would last 30 minutes and had a difficulty degree of zero.

One of my favorite Game Boy games. But I tell you, that bonus game where you have to match the picture after a split second of looking to get the map piece is super touogh. I try to like stare at a fixed point on the screen and try to see the ones on the edges with my peripheral vision, but it's not foolproof. They really wanted to make getting to the true ending that much harder, didn't they? ;)
